Fabio, that's an, umm, interesting color scheme you got there.

Lightstriker: thanks for sharing your experiences and posting pics for our future reference.

I have the same type of door panels with the perforated sound holes. Here is what I did to upgrade my speakers:

Light striker nice write up, and the wire connections for the rocker switch for my 84 Euro are

Blue/Green

Yellow/ nothing

this might be the same for you however you didnt post wire color or the switch connections.

Now onto the door,............. first, I hope that you reinstall the arm rest ( The part that swings out ) before you try to put the armrest back on the door panel, this part is not necessary to remove to undo the 10mm bolts in the storage compartment.

What will happen is the little nuts that are slip fit into the backside of the door handle will either fall out or just spin when you try to tighten them so its best to have these parts tightened on the bench so you can see what your doing.
That said I think that you have damaged the doors integrity by cutting parts out it them, it would be wise to figure out another way to mount your tunes.

If your going to install a weather barrier first get a clear shower curtain or other plastic with similar weight , cut smaller pieces for all of the openings including the new holes you have made, tape the plastic pieces to the tops of each hole and let the plastic fall into the door and hang about an inch below the bottom edge of each hole.( this helps any water that drains into the door roll down the inside of the door instead of into the back side of your new speakers or fresh leather covering)

Then take a big piece and cover the whole door , I use 3M packing tape its pretty sticky and strong enough to hold the plastic in place.

Finally before you do any covering, clean out the door drains ( a tooth brush works well and a vacuum cleaner along with a fresh water rise, and also lubricate the door latch linkage, and see if the window sliders are loose if so you can use a tie wrap or two between the plastic guide and metal tube to take up some of the slack

Good luck with your project and please try not to cut any more metal from your car

Thanks... But it's not only the rocker, but the joystick too.
And sadly in mine, there is no yellow cable.

So if someone around '79 could take a picture...
