New 928 book coming out in 2009
This could finally be second really good english language book about 928 besider 30 years old Project 928. At least it sounds very promising. Long has written many Porsche books before and probably has all the connections needed to dig out interesting data. If possible, please do pre-order it so publisher sees there is market for it and will not cancel it at last minute.

He has written a 914 book that I sold quite successfully, Probably a few others, too.
Interestingly, there was another 928 book supposed to come-out last year, but it never did.

I'm really curious to know his sources et al.
I'm sure I'll pick it up because it's literature, and involves our cars. Does anyone have a preview of content?

Interesting.
Book Description
The 928 was originally designed as a replacement for the legendary 911, although traditionalists wouldn’t let the air-cooled machine die, and the fuel crisis that occurred soon after the new Grand Tourer was launched meant its stunning performance on the road would not be matched in the showrooms. There was hardly a bad word written about the 928 or the beautifully-engineered V8 that powered it when it was new, yet it always seemed to be in the shadow of its older, six-cylinder stablemate. Today, over a decade since the last car was built, interest in this magnificent Porsche is increasing, as people start to judge it in a different light. This painstakingly-researched book looks at the birth of the 928, and then follows its progress around the world, taking in all the variants in all major markets, as well as a peak at its racing exploits. Illustrated with contemporary material throughout, it is the perfect guide to this eight-cylinder Porsche.
I wonder if it meant peek, and if it is looking at some of the more recent racing endevours of some of our illustrious rennlisters ie Mark A, & K, and Carl at Pikes Peak? Once this shows up, if it is good, report back and I will get my own copy.

I have a bunch of documents, obtained by Kim Crumb, about the Cup cars. A lot of suspension and engine mods were made to these cars.

I don't understand why Veloce would cancel the book. They are selling lots of their last 928 book - the buyer's guide.
Anyway, the book is 6 months away. I don't know why Amazon offers it already. Not even the official importer (my vendor) has it on their website, yet.
