Cheryl @ the Silver State Classic
This is one of those in advance posts for possible results. As some of you know I turned the car over to my wife to race this year in the Open Road Venue. She has run the right seat for 5 years now and it is her turn to be in the lime light. She has taken two 2nd place finishes in 130 and 145 mph clases on her way to Unlimited. She is running 150 on Sunday and I am very confident that she will come in on time if I can slow her down. Matt (Edco) is here along with Joe Privetelli and Jim Davidson is his 928. There may be more but I have not seen them.
My friend Bill Ball is here pitting for us and I am thankful for that. All we had to do to the car is is to change the LH because of some eratic fuel issues. My thanks to Biil. Tomorrow is the car show and I happened to see a Corvette ZR1 sluthing around the tech area. Not sure if he is running but it defenitely had manufacture plates on it.
I will keep you updated on the event.

I got to drive the Beast yesterday. Although I didn't get out of 4th gear, you know that is still pretty fast. The car is in a good state of tune and ready to go. I'll be waiting with the trailer at the finish line after Cheryl wins the 150 class.

Back from the Silver State. Cheryl and Tim and the others should report in soon. The Beast ran very well. Matt had no problems and I saw Jim and Joe arriving back to their hotel as I was leaving Ely to head home yesterday afternoon. The weather was perfect for racing, in the 60s and 70s, although the winds probably picked up by the time the unlimiteds ran.
I was a bit sore by the time I got home from the 530 mile ride back last night fighting headwinds on my trusty 82 CBX, which performed flawlessly, but I'm all better now. We left the race right after Matt rolled in to the finish and headed back to Ely so we could head home rather than stay another night. The race seemed to be going smoothly with no hiccups other than the usual Pantera motor blow-up.
Thanks again for Cheryl & Tim allowing me to be their crew again. I can't imagine a nicer pair of 928 people to spend a race weekend with. It was the easiest crew job I've ever had as The Beast was completely ready except for the most minor of tweaks.
Here's Tim getting ready to load The Beast back into the trailer after the race. Matt, Jim and Joe will post some more pictures.
