Drama Llama checking in here...

Whitefox last checked in here at about 2:30. I would have thought he'd be long gone by now.

I'm sorry bigs, but you $250 is gone. You'll never see it, but then you knew that - you'll survive.

Whitefox on the other hand is heading quickly to a dismal existence. Unfortunately for him, our healthcare system is not well equipped to help people with addiction problems unless you are wealthy or have really good insurance or both.

Whitefox, will most likely feed his addiction until he is 100% broke and then some. He'll then resort to criminal activity - petty larcenies at first, but then it will quickly escalate or grand larceny. He will get caught.. it's just a matter of time. And if he's fleeing on his bike (he already alluded to doing that), he may very well die trying to stay free. A sad ending.

Assuming he doesn't manage to take himself out of the gene pool, he'll end up in prison and after becoming someone's party-time bitch several times over, he may finally get the treatment he needs. And if, big if here, he gets out and flies straight, he may end up getting a job and Home Depot and make something of himself, but the odds will be against him, and he'll likely end up back in prison at some point - possibly for the rest of his life. A sad ending.

Now, of course, he could just decide to give it up (it won't be easy), get his act together and learn is lesson without getting a conviction, loosing his friends, and getting his virgin balloon knot violated.

His choice.

Grrrrrrrr. I"m guessing he's got a lot of people to touch up before he runs out of cash. Sorry Bigs, but also sorry for Ross.

A childhood friend of mine died this spring on a sportbike while high and drunk. I suspect young Ross is heading in that direction.

Does anyone here know his family? Seems to me like they might have an interest in what's going on. Also, are there any other listers that he is planning on interacting with on his trip? They should be warned and they can pass the word that he is burning bridges. Rennlist is a powerful ally. It'd be a shame for a troubled youth to ruin it for future young persons looking to this place for help.

Thanks for letting us know bigs. If someone can catch him maybe someday he'll have a chance to atone for his mistakes. My friend Mikey never will.

Ross' trip is done. He's home in Florida - thanks to the generosity of many Rennlisters.

Bigs--sorry to hear you were taken advantage of, some people have little appreciation for what they are given. I am hopeful that he will learn but I am not willing to put money on it.

Life really does come down to a few key moments and opportunities and your success or failure comes down to how you handle them, a lesson learned too late for too many people. Ross may be one of them.

damned shame

Don't give up on kindness guys just for one bad apple. There's lots of people out there that truly appreciate a break. You never know it could be one of us next time. I've been in some tough situations as well but I made it work. I hope Russ can do the same. Also I will bet he probably owes big time to the people in his everyday life there in Florida.

Well bigs you are generous. All the advice you've given me over the years is worth exactly what I paid for it!

All kidding aside you did a good thing and got taken advantage of. No shame in that for you. Most people inclined to give open up themselves to the risk of getting burned. I suspect the rewards you've gained through your lifetime of generosity far out weight the trouble this incident this has caused you.

I'm so sorry to read this Steve. Of all the people on Rennlist to F over it has to be just about the nicest guy here. Just to know that Bigs would come out with this in public tells me he is well beyond just mad. I followed that idiots x-country jig-saw puzzle and was slack jawed at how incompetent he was in his life decisions and how generous the 928 crowd was to him. Hopefully he will man up but I doubt it very seriously. What a complete tool.

You are correct. I have no intention of changing my character or practices.

...Well, I suspect I may check out individual charitable opportunities a bit more thoroughly in the future.

But I feel very strongly that the rest of Rennlist should know exactly what they're dealing with here. Anyone who desires to help Ross in the future should do so with his eyes wide open.

That really blows....reminds me all to well of the actions of my drug addicted stepson. I don't get how people can be so blatantly careless and treat others generosity with such a lack of respect.

What was the original post for his trip? I'd like to read it.

This should really also be in off topic since others could be affected.

Bigs, that really sucks. I'm so sorry Ross took advantage of you, and probably many others, in this way. I followed Ross' story from the sidelines and simply shook my head in amazement at the way the story unfolded.

6mil, check out the thread titled "Project Whitefox" right here on the 928 board. I think I just saw it about 6-8 pages back (I'm set for 40 posts per page, fyi) while searching for something else. It's still there, in any event.

Ross, you should be ashamed of yourself.
