If you wanted a 911 model car to replace your 928 which year/model would you go for?
And while you're at it which one would you buy if you wanted one to go with your 928, as in offer something different...
And here's the clincher, they have to be in running condition and keep the initial purchase price under $20,000.
Okay, if I have to be serious I'd go for a 964 cab if I wanted somenthing totally different from our 928. We have one (964) and I love it. Randy strongly prefers his GTS and finds the 911 cramped and a little slow.
I don't think Porsche ever made a car that would replace the 928. I think you'd have to look outside the brand for something totally different to avoid dissappointment.
As to prices, look at Ebay, you'll find them all over the board.
1984 911SC in great condition should be under 20,000.

I would buy this one for under $4k, and have a blast restoring it.........in my own time. Which would be the time I have left after maintaining the 928, the 74' TR6, working a full time job, being a father and a husband; all in that order
