You have a car that make head turns. He doesn't.
928 Sound, Look, Confort, Handling > Mustang GT
A 928 can be beaten by a lot of stuff today. But can he claim to own a car that was once fastest production car on Earth?

You don't need Nos. To be frank you need to appreciate your car for what it is. A timeless looking rare car with great performance in its day. If you want to drag race sell your car and buy something American from the 70's. You can probably get in the 12's or 13's for under $10k. Sell your 928 and give it to someone who will appreciate what it is rather than drag race it against some other 16 year olds.

1) Suggest that he wait 20+ years and race his stock 2001 Stang(k) against a 2020 model and see what kind of race it would be. That's (in a nutshell) what he's wanting you to do; race a classic against a contemporary. Never mind; his car will already have been processed at the salvage yard twice by then. Yours?...still on the road.
2) Say that you don't expect him to understand the significance of owning a Porsche classic; after all he's driving a common household appliance. Your Blue Book values are probably about even now: 30yrs to his 7yrs.
3) Say, "Yes, you have a faster car; just not a better one".
4) Show him why you love the car. Say, "No, my car isn't faster, but let's take it down the road; you can drive." Hopefully, he'll get it and dispense w/ the juvenile routine.
Good luck; keep us updated. We're rooting for 'ya.

Make a real bet out of it and go with him to a track or DE day for pinks. Then you can sell the Mustang and upgrade to a newer 928.
