Westchester Car Show
I’m a member of the Road Knights Auto Club out of Peekskill, NY. Each September we host
what is probably the largest Car Show in Westchester County at Peekskill’s Riverfront Green
Park on the banks of the Hudson River. This year’s Show will be on Sunday, September 14th.
The Show is open to all cars built between 1896 and 2008. There will be thirty-nine judged
classes. If you, or anyone you know, would like to enter a car in the show; please go to
www.roadknights.info/events.php for detailed information and downloadable entry forms.
For those who want to enter a car to be judged, let them be aware that this is not like the Import
shows, the Euro shows, or the Tuner shows. Modifications are not judged separately. All cars are
judged on four criteria. Exterior(body, paint, wheels, etc.); Interior; Engine; and Undercarriage.
If you’ve got wild paint, “Lambo” doors, and extensive bodywork, you will not get bonus points.
Same for wild audio/video installations, and custom turbos, etc. This is not that type of show. You
will, however, garner five bonus points if you have a Fire Extinguisher in your car.
If anyone would like to volunteer to help, we would welcome the extra hands. It’s a huge show with
nearly 500 cars, and thousands of spectators. Anyone who volunteers as a Judge can enter their car
for free, but can not judge the class their car is entered in. Anyone interested in volunteering should
call one of the contact numbers listed on the web page above.

The earlier you get there, the easier it will be to park.
The parking lots closest to the park fill up quickly.
I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed with this show.
This is the premier show for this region, and all the entrants will be bringing their "A" game.
And there's something for everyone. Restored Classics, Antiques, Street rods, Muscle Cars, Pony Cars,
Custom Cars(last year's show featured a jet-powered Honda), Sports Cars, Imports, Exotics, Trucks, etc.

Michele and I are going and would love to meet up! Hopefully the weather will cooperate.
You will probably have the best ride if you come up the Pallisades Parkway and cross over the Bear Mountain Bridge down to Peekskill, the view is magnificent, the roads very twisty, and the bridge toll much cheaper than the Tappan Zee.

Funny you should say that about the Tappan Zee. We went out for a nice little joy ride up the Palisades Parkway last week. Somehow managed to get turned around at the end and instead of taking the Thruway further north to catch up to 287, we ended up going over the Tappan Zee. It wasn't eating anything at all....the road looks like it was just repaved. Smoooooth sailing!
But when we got to the other side, and had to turn around, OMG, talk about being blinded by the sun, sitting just above the water's level. Reflecting right in our eyes the whole way over! That's probably when people find their cars being eaten....as they drive over the side of the bridge from having their eyes lasered out!

WESTCHESTER. . . TAPPAN ZEE . . .
Dang -
I should keep one of my cars in NY/CT. There are always LOTS of events in NY / New England to attend.
I spent many a HS class, bored, day-dreaming, looking out the window on a near-by hill, watching the vehicles cross that bridge...
At least the toll is only East bound, now!
Hudson River Valley -- some gorgeous places and drives...(OK, 'off-peak!')
Heck -- I could be a 'poster child' for Westchester education....
Kindergarten through medical school. (Just the way it worked out)...
Sounds like a fun time... remember to post some pics!
