Is this to turn on the dashboard diagnostics?
I took a length of wire and folded over the end and jammed it in there. Worked for as long as I had it in there... be careful.

Ordinary wire is just fine....
Solder the ends so you dont have a bunch of frayed wires & you can get the size so its a resonably snug fit...

This is odd...I crank the car. Jump the pins. Pull on the stalk for 3 to 6 seconds...nothing. When I push I get PORSCHE on left DIAGNOSE on right and nothing in the middle window. Lifting the stalk displays a A in the middle display..us like a turnsignal and A changes to B...again and B changes to C and so on. Nothing about Language. I toggled over to L in the diagnose and it test the LHS and motor surges....so L is not Language. Any ideas???

OK... just read the linked post. If I read it correctly, only US cars can be switched to another language. It also said that if you disconnect the battery, it should revert to its original language.

What happens when you disconnect the battery?
