Default X-country trip, who wants to meet up?

I am riding a bike from Seattle back to Florida, one hell of an adventure, I don't have too much time for sight seeing but I am more than willing to take a couple detours to meet up with some fellow 928 rennlisters to help ease my withdrawals.

Also, does anybody have any recommendations for which routes to take back?

Ross, I drove from Central FL to San Francisco back in 1998. It took a week to get across while towing a car and hauling all of my belongings. The one regret I have is that I didn't take my time and really see the country. You never know when or if you will ever get the chance again. Your young, try to make the most of it.

I have limited funds to spend time sightseeing, staying at hotels is really going to eat me up.

Maybe you will meet some good Samaritans, or bums.

I traded my 928 for this bike, which means I'm flying out to Seattle. This is by no means the end of my 928 ownership, I just need to be in a better position in my life to keep her up to date on maintenance, my wallet has been empty for 3 years due to my love for this car. Plus I want a 5 speed.

I will still be going to all the 928 meets and I will be in old town this month too.

if I wasn't on the east coast I might be more help, but if you want to go north before you head west, I'm in Bristow, Virginia and will definately help you out.

Don't forget to wer earplugs. I rode my '85 GPz750 from Rochester NY to Boise ID back in '95...

Sounds like a good adventure, nice bike too. Do you have much experience riding sport bikes? I'd advise to buy a large expandable magnetic tank bag if you don't already have one; good handy storage you take take off the bike quickly and you can basically lay forward on it to relieve your legs and torso from keeping the weight off your wrists on a long ride. Also might wanna slap a touring windscreen and some bar risers on, at least for an epic ride like that. and check out www.motorcycleradar.com too.
