Instrument bezels
I've been doing an instrument lighting upgrade (that topic to follow in another thread) and I thought that WIWIT I would spice up the look, add a little bling, whatever, and bezels came to mind. I looked at SpeedHut's (I'm using their EL gauge faces) but noted problems mentioned here on the list with fit (not a plane surface), and JagEng's stuff looks great, but I'm cheap. I also have a few machine tools, sooo... I made me up a set from some 2024T35 I had lying around (from another life, much less another project). That's a real stiff alloy, so if you aren't much of a machinist (like me) you don't have to worry about thin rings self-destructing on the parting cut. Anyway, here's how it turned out. More on the gauge faces later. I particularly like the way the rings just touch on the edges where the large-to-small ones meet, and on the main surface where the big rings touch each other. Ahem.

That would be great, if I could! I was up in your neck of the woods (sorta) last week - home to Phila., Ithaca NY, Windsor Locks Ct, home - 1320 miles and the shark was flawless, so if my sched permitted wouldn't hesitate to take another long trip. Have fun!

Hi Martin, wow looks great, nice work. Been thinking of doing something similar, but will go with the Jag-Eng's product since I would have absolutely no idea how to fabricate those myself... very impressive job there. Yeah, so whats up with the red gauges? Speed Hut? May do that too, would like red lit numbers, and besides my 5-speed conversion still has the auto trans indicators that light up and i want to get rid of that altogether. oh yeah, did i mention nice work
