Angry Leaking power stearing fluid - question...

After a week long business trip I bring the shark into work this morning. About 5 miles from work I notice a vibration in the steering wheel, as I get closer to work I start to hear a loud groan as I turn the wheel.. Great!..

Pull into a parking spot and notice I have left a trail of fluid.. even better... I hope I have just blown a hose.

What I think I might do is fill the reservoir with fluid, cut the belt and muscle the car home.. about 30 miles, mostly straight highway.

I am insane for thinking this and am I risking damage, or over due strain on the rack?

arrrggggg

If you fill the reservoir there's still a chance that fluid shall continue to leak and was cause fire.

I'd leave the res. empty and cut the belt so the pump isn't 'running on empty' and eat a good lunch for the calories needed later.

I cut the PS belt and just drove the car home.. I was please that at highway speeds I really didn't notice the lack of PS. Bit of a pig below 30, but thats to be expected.

Looks like the passenger side seal went on the rack.. Just when I got her running so well..
