Default Will 88 Fuel Pump Work on 81?

Been messing with the 81 today trying to diagnose no-start issue.

I replaced the green wire with a new one as it was pretty corroded - I haven't checked for spark yet but moved on to the fuel system

When fuel pump relay is jumped, I get power to the pump, but pump doesn't run.

I think I have a spare pump lying around somewhere for my 88. Anyone know if that will work before I go looking for it (I guess from a hook-up and pressure standpoint)?

Thanks

In theory different pumps - in practice if you can hook it up maybe.

Thanks!

Hacker - I think I was going to look for a flywheel for you - I looked yesterday but couldn't see it - it may have been attached to the engine when I sold it - I'll keep looking

Cool, thanks Rob. I have one for the 81, but the 79 is just around the corner (same project).

My 83 K-jet had an S4 pump in it when I got it, no issues with it. IMHO if its an efi pump and you can fit it into the connections properly, it out to work. L and LH use pressures of ~45psi max, where K-jet needs 65-75psi to run.
