Default Anyone know this Lagoon Blue 88'

I ran across this S4 on ebay, I wonder if the owner is a rennlist memeber, or if anyone has any history. The car is a 5speed, with Big reds on the front. Looks like it had an improper alignment done, and there is not much history.

Any comments or directions would be appreciated. It would be great to get back into a shark.

Stephen

Missing the front spoiler and both belly pans from the pics. DS front fender is missing the vin tag so either repainted or replaced. Also no mention of having lsd or not (option code 220).
There are some similar colored S4s that make it to SITM every year, Ernest W. and Wayne G as well as Jim M from TX. Nice color but not too unusual to see one similar.

This is a color that has to be seen in person. It's absolutely beautiful as one normally wouldn't expect. The car seems to have the normal visual issues that come from age. But hey, thats the fun...fixing them up.

The car is probably priced right for the market in this day and age. I would top out at $11K for it.

I have spoken to him a couple times. He seems reasonable, but clearly not knowledgeble. The option code sticker is in place but has faded beyond translation. I need to figure out if the car has LSD. That is a big issue for me. I actually saw a Lagoon Green 911 yesterday in Philly, so I know how cool the color is.

Looks like it will need more than a little TLC.

Thanks folks.

Wow, that's pretty!

If you're wondering about the LSD, have the seller check the manual for a duplicate build sticker (a long shot, but...).

Hey ruf965 - is the yellow in your avatar a factory color? That's about perfect for me.

Yup,

Here is the VIN WP0JB092XJS860335

Thanks Rixter. How have you been?

Folks, no the car in my Avitar is not mine, and it is Speed Yellow. I have always wanted a speed yellow 928.

Yeah, it is a very nice color. I have been looking at that one also.

Good to get some comments from the guys here. I missed the items 928andRC51 mentioned until I took another look. A '88 and 5 speed gets my heart pumping.

Good Luck.

Great looking car but I have to wonder why the passenger seat belt is not mounted.

I've been watching this car as well. I wrote the seller and he answered a few of my questions via e-mail. The car has been repainted about 10 years ago. It has some dings and paint chips that "natually happen with age". When I asked about its mechanical condition and known problems (i.e., things that don't work) he responded that it runs great when he took it out 3 weeks ago and also drove it all last summer. He also said that it has never been in an accident as far as he knows and the only broken thing was the power lumbar support on the passenger side seat. I would agree that he does not seem knowledgeable about the car so there may be a few other issues. I like the color combo.....but I'll probably pass on this one.

I'll guarantee that. The rarest 928 of all is the one in which everything works. My PO said that, and while he was mostly correct, there were many minor problems. I've been fixing all the little things to get everything running correctly at the same time, but I am not confident that I'll ever quite reach that asymptote.

Pretty, pretty car, though!

Rixter,

You are the MAN!!! Thank you again, it has been a long time since I have been around here. Lots of new faces, lots of old friends gone. It will feel good to be back in the 928 fold.

Stephen
