It's dented on the quarter and there's a 5-6" rip on the bumper cover. Confirmed by the thread starter Bill, and the owner John.

Being that he is the 2nd owner and knows the OO, the history on this car, ie. maintanence records shouldn't be hard to figure out. We'll have to wait and see.

I'm sure I've been called fanatical about somethin, just not sure it was ever rust! But we do fight it here with the year round moisture, salt & sun.

It just meant that my 81 has rust all over it and it was a Florida car. I won't buy an older car from there again if I can help it. If I do it won't be sight un seen fo sho

ahh yea, you're right, you gotta check em out down here.
My dad years ago bought a Ford truck from a bank that was a repo. Even though it was a fairly new truck, it had been owned by someone who lived near the beach. Seems like in no time, Dad had rust coming thru the body from underneath due to the salt air it faced the first few years of its life. Thats one main reason why garages bring a big premium for properties near the ocean!
