Ohter than our Big three that help us rennlisters, Some Rennlisters might have them available.......But EBAY WORKS FOR ME....My local Auto yard unfortunetely does not stock Porsche....but I would check your local one. Good Luck in finding those parts...the last 2 weeks on Ebay there have been a couple of what your looking for listed. Another Quest has started!!

I have them all in stock.
Spoiler is $367.95, 3 horizontal grill pieces are $32.95 each and the two outside verticals are $22.97 each. The center vertical is no longer available but we have a reproduction for $27.
Maybe you can find some used parts.

Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?

Shawn,
For 2K the body is perfect, P.O. did 1k in motor maintenance and fluid changes before he gave up. Johnny has ordered 1K in parts for a motor refresh as a starting point. This car is a keeper 85 Euro 109K just been out in the sun for a few years. Please don't discourage him he is very excited about this car and I intend to help him bring it back to life. My Vette looked worse than that when I bought it!

Hood is fine the hinges need to be looked at!
So the question is do you pay 5K and have Ok paint, interior is pretty good and the belt needs changing. Or do you pay 2K paint the car, refresh the interior the way you like it and replace the same items you would need to anyway. From what I see there are a lot of marginal cars that beg to be saved but not worth it. In my humble opinion this Euro is unique enough to warrant that.
Besides you are discounting the satisfaction factor of doing a transformation. I have done this on a lot of cars over the years and heard the same line why did you buy that! For me its a hobby and this is not even my car so If I did not think this was salvageable I would not start into this project.

Good luck with the resto my Euro project is probably close to the condition of the this one, right now I am waiting for my wallet to catch up to the parts counter so to finish off a bunch of the little things that will keep her from running. Try adding some PB blaster to the hood hinges I would bet thats all they will need to close properly

Well, with 928's you pretty much have to do it for the love of the car. There is just so little money to be made on a resto. You would be better off taking a cheap but solid dirty poorly kept car and cleaning it up and selling it (ie. Todd over on the Pelican board or Willhoit) for a small but tidy profit. Taking a car that is pretty hurting but still a driver and making that nice is a whole different ball game...
I find the satisfaction in it too, knowing that I took a sad car that most would have written off and made it really nice again...perfect? NO WAY, but nicer than most cars you see on the road and good enough to take to a car show and not be ashamed of. I love that! It keeps another car out of the junk yard too! I look at it as my form of recycling.
Now to this car specifically... in general an S4/GTS should NOT be in need of restoration so I am not even considering them, so my first choice of a car to bring back to life would be a Euro S from '84 - '86, then an OB car (80 - 82), then a US S, then a US '78/'79 OB... the 78/79 cars have to much vacuum stuff in them and make all the others look easy to deal with really, so that is why they are low on my resto list...just to much of a PITA for me. That said, I would take a car like Kermit over just about any other from a collectors point of view...first year, low production numbers, etc. etc...I just don't really want to restore a 78/79.
Oh, I would avoid Euro cars other than S's too, but that is just me...well, save the '92 that I park in my garage...
I look forward to another shark getting a new lease on life!
