Default Todd's new Air to Air Intercooler

Todd sent me photos of the latest stage of his project.

Just to recap, this is a 100% stock 928 engine with 951 pistons (forged & lower compression ratio). He is useing Autronic for engine management.

With Todd's new supercharger, he is now reaching (soon to be passing) the 30psi mark. He decided to go air to air since he could not find a good way to fit in a larger air to water unit.

I'm going to copy his headlight motor relocation setup on my track car.

Todd purchased a blank IC core, added the side tanks.

The two fans he has behind the radiator have motors the size of 928 alternators on them (well, almost) with a custom shroud with less than a millimeter of clearance between it and the blades.

When he turns on the fans, you can feel the rush of air in front of the IC. He started the car, let it idle for a few minutes then switched on the fans. You could instantly feel the IC cooling down.

He also modified the radiator bridge to run without a thermostat.

He also did what most don’t do; he completely flushed his radiator (then added custom side tanks). I’m a firm believer most over heating 928’s are due to clogged radiators. The aluminum side tanks on his radiator is the same setup Aggrivation has on his car, and soon we hope to offer this service to other 928 owners.

That's badass.

Interesting ball joint linkage for the headlamps. Seems it may have been easier to run each headlamp off separate motors w/ independent linkages.

He started down that route, then changed his mind. I'm not 100% sure why.

That's an insulation wrap around the supercharger.

This supercharger has straight cut gears and is quite loud compared to the Vortec units. The insulation wrap significantly cuts down the noise.
