The first one looks to have been installed by the company that did the federalization of the car when it was brought into the country. Those are various emissions controls abbreviations, right?

The next two are of course the VIN tags. They give the weights sitting on the front and back wheels, and the vehicle in total. Not sure about Rod Chamberlain -- maybe that's the purchaser, or possibly the importing company?

The M2822-82F in the bottom pic is your motor number. The L999 should be a paint code.

What else do you want to know? Is this your car? Or a potential purchase?

Purchase for my friend looks like it has Psd? I saw what looks like a brake fluid reserve near the back on the transmission. I was wondering what type of motor etc you can find out by the numbers.

L999 is a Paint to Sample... since there are no options listed other than C00 I'm betting this car is a custom order and you will only get the options by going thru Porsche (or me)
what color is it?

Well, it's an 85 Euro. Should have 16v motor? 4.7, 310 hp. Basically the same as the 84 Euro. (We have both here.)

Kevin says that may be the fill for the transmission you're seeing. Does it have a red fill cap and is it on the passenger side of the trans?

That is the auto trans reservoir...

The stickers that say Rod Chamberlain are the stickers for the Registered Importer that brought the car in.

Not sure what the Bureau of Automotive Repair sticker is about... Never seen one of those.

The car may well be a paint to sample, but I bet dollars to donuts it has been repainted at least once. Look at that MASSIVE drip next to one of the stickers. That would NEVER get out of the factory like that! Not a drip someplace as obvious as that. You can also see the paint bleed on the paper sticker next to the RI (registered importer) stickers...

There were NO PSD's before what??? 1990 I think... LSD's prior, but that was an option and fully integrated w/ the diff, so you would not see anything from the outside as far as I know...

Yep, PSD was 1990 onwards only. LSD before that typically has option code 220 on the vin sticker in the rear hatch (unless the car is an SE/Clubsport/GT in which case its part of the package option to indicate model variant).

The transmission serial number also indicated whether it has LSD - can be found stamped at the rear edge of the trans, facing the ground.

Yea, the Rod Chamberlin would be the owner at time of import. My euro has the same exact sticker, but with Dr. Dewy Shepard listed as owner and the colors are reversed(black background silver lettering) Don't ever take that sticker off or repaint over it! I almost could not get insured without being able to show that sticker to the underwriter.

So is it an automatic?

Is it the normal 16V 85 euro or is it the more rare and less desireable 32V 85 euro?

32V engine was available only in '86 MY for certain ROW markets. Also since it has C00 country option it should be German model. AFAIK there was only one engine version available for Germany that year. So this can only be normal 16V 310 hp model.
