I think these will work 18x8et57 front and 18x10et58 rear.. The rear has 285s the fronts are 225. Hoping to put some 235 or 245 on front, but the 225 were already on the rims for a great price. The car handles way much better!

I REALLY like the looks of those 5 spoke wheels! Always have... I think there is another (older) style that has an even thinner spoke on it and I like that one a touch better than these, but I tell you what, I would take EITHER of them!

Well done! What all is still in place on that car to make it go a bit faster. RR FP I think was one thing and Darin had a CRAZY loud exhaust on it...what else??? Do you know the RWHP on that car?

ive got the same size/offset front (they are 19"?) and ive mounted a 245 falken onto this - there is contact between the wheel and the guard somewhere when taking roundabouts with gusto.. 235 worked without interference.

 

Thanks Nick, looks like 245 might be a bit much for the fender lip. Having height adjustment and alignment done in two weeks at local dealer, mechanic is great and knows the 928. Just have to see how much room there is after the tweaking.

James, I had the thinner spoked Carrera 5 spoke lightweights on my 944 Turbo. They are so thin and light they have a horrible record for getting bent easily on a 996. My wheel guy wouldn't even consider them on a 928. Mumbled something about the first pot hole causing tirettes.

I understand from a couple of emails with Darin the car had adj FPR running additional .5 bar, racing Fuel Pump, and a special Devek 6 inch exhaust. Said it dynoed just over 400 with that setup. I was told the next owner put stock exhaust back on to pass emissions, but don't know if any tuning or changes to FP and FPR were made.

Oh and the car does have DEVEK suspension setup with adj front bar, non-stock rear bar, Adj Koni's and Hyperco springs.

Dang it, just looked under the car to see if there were any numbers on the springs and the inside of the front rims are rubbing on the end of the swaybars. Also looks like tire had rubbed the paint off the swaybar ends in the past. Turned it lock to lock and looks like at least and inch between the wheel/tire and where the end of the sway bar has the paint rubbed off?

Yep, I have the same style wheels. They're awesome! IMO, you should have gone with the 11" rears then put on 295's or 305's! Still a good choice and a great looking car!

 

rkd, just saw that your wheels are 18" so you may have more clearance than i did with 19".

 

RKD- On our old 90GT, I bought the larger Devek front swaybar used from DR at 928 Specialists. He warned me the front wheels/tires might rub this bar when turning sharply (that's the main reason he took it off his, IIRC). As your stock GTS wheels have the same widths/offsets as the GT, I wouldnt be surprised to see some previous rub marks on the bar.

Your new wheels, being 1/2 wider combined with slightly less offset, would appear to be likely to rub the Devek bar.

BTW-who's your wheel guy there in OKC? I want to make note of him for future reference. Thanks.
