Default replacement interior light

I have a broken head liner light, again. Damm German plastic!

Anyone remember the VW type replacement part number/source?

I bought them off of EBay. I beleive they were from a Jetta Mark IV. I'll see if I can find a linky for you.

John,
The light is from a VW golf or Passat. I bought four of them and replaced the F & R lights in both 928's. Be sure you get the wiring pig tail, as the molex adapter seems a bit rare. Here is an e-bay link to one. (I bought tan/white ones and sprayed them with trim black - look perfect).

Very cool!

directly fits exactly in all locations except the rear hatch one at the rear - this one needs some shortening of the socket end for clearance inside the hatch. The wiring uses a different connector so needs to be adapted.

Here is a picture with a connector (no wires) installed and also of how I adapted for the rear hatch location (soldered & pigtail ends JB Weld encapsulated.

Those are real nice, but do they come in black?

Andrew they would look great in your classic grey car. (assuming the head liner is classic grey also)

They do come in black but most are grey... you may need to order the black at a dealer.

Sounds good

so these are from a 2000 Golf? And passat? (I imagine there is allot of part sharing)

Anyone have a part number for black ones?

So would this replace the 1) dome light 2) rear dome on hatch light (after modification) and 3) rear cargo light also on hatch

Do i replace all 3 if i'm ordering these or just one or? what are you guys doing?

Oh and who is the "Sunset Porsche" of the VW world?

Ryan,
Thanks for the great photo's to go by....I'm definetly going to be updating mine.....I'm sure Dura Color Vinyl adhesive prep and a Dura color Black vinyl spray will do wonders.....worked great on much of my interior of one of my Audis.
