Loctite on flywheel bolts?
I am finally bolting the flywheel back onto my auto GTS after the worlds slowest RMS replacement (about 6 weeks so far as i keep getting distracted). Do people use loctite on the flywheel to crank and flexplate to flywheel bolts? I have always used loctite on flywheel bolts in my other cars but the WSM doesn't mention it for the GTS (unless I am reading the manual with my "stupid" glasses on) so was wondering what the consensus was. Thanks, Charles 93 GTS & 87 5 Speed in OZ.

If you do use locktite, you will probably bugger them up when you go to remove them in the future. They're hard to remove as is - those damn tripple square bits should be banned IMO!
BTW, I put them on plain both times - no issues.

Correct ONLY use loctite if you are positively absolutely certain that YOU will never need to ever remove them ....Pity the poor soul who bungs up the rear main seal replacement AND loctites the bolts... You can not start the car without the flywheel...

Jim & Andrew - I hear you!! I am not a fan of the 12pt fasteners and ended up welding up a custom 12pt bit in a half inch drive fitting so that I could fit the torque wrench in between the TT and flywheel. I am sure there must be a sound engineering reason for using the 12pt fasteners but I hate them Cheers, Charles in OZ.
