Timing Belt Center Cover Bolt
While Bill and I were trying to figure out what was causing my belt warnings, we noticed that someone had used a too long hardware store bolt and a larger washer as a spacer in the lower left hand of the center timing belt cover. I figured I would order a replacement today along with one of the smaller upper bolts that was cross threaded, but the PET doesn't show it. Can someone with an early 32Ver verify that there is supposed to be a bolt there?

well sort of the arrow doesnt point to a bolt but there is a bolt just to the left of the arrow it goes into the tensioner after the cover is installed, its possibly bolt #5

I don't think it can be 5, that's the tensioner arm bolt, maybe 15?
If it's the one I'm thinking of (one of the lower tensioner bolts) I think it's an M8x1.25 x 70 hex head. Adam and I have both had issues with that one not torquing down properly. It seems to only grab by the first few threads and then strips easily.
We checked the depth and found that we could go with one that was 5mm longer and it would torque down properly. Not sure what the deal is, but it worked for both of our cars.

So you're saying it goes in through the center cover right near where the PS cover overlaps it?
I can check on my '85 tonight when I get home. I don't know why it wouldn't be shown on the PET though.
BTW- I love Moss Green Metallic, Adam G. has one that color. Very cool!

There are four bolt holes in the tensioner gasket (#49), and 3 bolts listed in the PET diagram, 5, 24, and 15. I think these are for the holes on the left and the bottom, leaving the upper right one (I think?).
I think that's the one that goes through the center cover.
I think you've already found that there's supposed to be a bolt there from your WSM picture, so you've got the answer to the original question.

The 4 tensioner bolts are M8 (8mm shaft, 13mm head). There are 3 bolt lengths.
#5 is a 55mm length. These are the upper bolts and there are 2 of them, one of which goes through the cover.
#24 is 45mm (lower bolt right)
#15 is 62mm (lower bolt left)
