Marc Thomas did the motor. As far as I know, rods, crank, pistons are stock. Marc used a thicker gasket for the heads which are highly modified. I think he added a pan baffle. The SC has a custom oil line and return line to the sump.

Unfortunately the GTS is an oddball in the 928 world, in that it has maintained excellent value. So the money is in clean original GTS's, and not modified examples. The replaced block also doesn't help. That said, if you spent the time to clean up the minor issues you would see a lot more interest. As Jim has said, image is everything and little things like a non-working seat have a big impact. Not to mention inop a/c. That and most buyers won't want to see the harnesses, so you would do well to get the original belts back in place. Just my $9.28, it's a really nice car and should sell well.
I have an itch for a convertible. Maybe I should just cut off the top... NOT ;-)

Most CA buyers would not have that though, right?

Although I thought it would be more reassurring than disturbing to include the minor issues I noted, I should have expected that people would focus on them instead of the rest of the car. I should have said "great car, fast, excellent condition" and left it at that. Sorry, Joe.

I have seen this GTS in person many times and have seen in "run" in an autocross.....it is very nice in every detail and whomever ends up with it will be very happy...... Needless to say Joe "beat" me at the autocross by a wide margin....but I do suck at autocrosses...

As it has been said, modified cars are fun for the owner who did them, but hardly anyone wants a modified Porsche 928....especially a GTS. Bone stock on GTS's which are well sorted will sell rather quickly. Its a nice car Joe, but time and time again, I have seen SC'd cars sit for a long time. To 99.99% of potential buyers, they won't touch it, no matter how well it's done. Hope someone comes along someday and buys it, but don't hold your breath. Good luck!

Joe,
Curious as to why it's running a T-Trim with such a small amount of boost? If I had the money it would be MINE!

Sorry Joe and Bill, I was not trying to put down the car. It's beautiful and I would love to have it in my garage. But to the great unwashed (ebay) it will not represent as well because most people do not understand it. And the little items are enough for most people to click on by, which is why I said taking care of those will make it much higher-profile. It's going to take an enthusiast (i.e. Rennlist) to buy the car and that will probably take time until the person looking specifically for a supercharged GTS shows up. Best of luck Joe.

As you know, the T-Trim produces more air although it sings at idle, straight-cut gears I believe, while the S-Trim is is helical. Originally, it ran at almost 9psi, but I dropped it to 5.5 when Marc re-built it to be safer. At 9, it would spin the rear 315's in 3rd. No point in that much HP. It's really the best of both worlds now, very reliable and very fast.

To hell with the market! If I had the money for a GTS, and a Supercharged one to boot. This would have been gone as soon as it was listed! I know the appreciation for the car is thin, but damn, you'd think SOMEONE would buy it as is! I'm sorry I can't help out Joe!

I have had my ups and downs, but some of those ups were worth the trade for the downs I have been in situations when I seriously doubted whether or not I would make it out alive, but I did and am happy for the experience. I have nothing but contempt for those who hide in "safe" places never knowing life's ranges.
Here is a quote from Theodore Roosevelt:
"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor souls who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in gray twilight that knows not victory or defeat."
Only a few will ever know the pleasure of driving a Porsche for any length of time and at a level to allow the machine to prove its worth. They are the lucky ones. It is only money. Go for it.
Now.....if I could only figure out where he parks that car in Sunnyvale......
