Exclamation Anybody have wheel spacers they would part with?

After seeing my car from behind next to another, I can't get over how much better the 928 looks with a wider stance.

If you have an extra set you'd sell, let me know the size and price. Thanks!

Q?

Did you have ANY IDEA what size spacers you want? That may help, if you want to do it for the look (which is reason enough to do it honestly, it makes a huge difference) then you need to know the correct size. If you want to be close, measure from the outer edge of the tire sidewall to the inner edge of the rear fender lip. Look for a spacer thats less then that.

I have spacers from my S as well as a set of 20mm (I think that is the size) spacers I got off ebay. The ones from my S parts car are NOT CLEAN but factory, the ones from ebay DO NOT have the hub lip in the middle and I would probably NOT suggest that anyone buy or use these. The wheel is supposed to be supported on the hub NOT the lugs.

That said, you will probably need the type of spacers with the built in lugs (quite expensive) OR you will have to go in and put longer lug/studs in your hugs (REAL PITA) as it is doubtful that you will be able to slip a spacer on and still be able to tighten (or maybe even thread) your lug nuts...

YMMV!

It depends on what's available. 1.5 inches would probably be fine - that would bring the tires very close to the fender.

I was initially thinking of .75 - 1.0 inch.

vertex auto sells them pretty cheap and they are willing to make deals. I bought some 3" spacers from them about a year ago and only paid $80.

Not All ebay spacers are created equally, I wouldnt generalize on this one. See below

I bought 15mm spacers from a Vertex auction and they will accept best offers. They are very nice spacers, with lugs and nuts and are hub centric. I also paid $80 for mine and loved them. When i sold the Cup II wheels i also sold the spacers.

Just make sure and measure first then buy. If you were looking at 3/4" then 1.5" is going to be too much. (Sorry Sterling ) You dont sound very sure, so i suggest you measure as i suggested and use that measurement as your ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM! If you go over you will damage the rear quarter.

Yea, didn't mean to say that all the ebay spacers are bad...just that the bad ones I got were from ebay. They were cheap...and obviously it was for a reason. Though listed as working on our cars (Porsche in general) I would NOT put them on my car.

I just installed a set of hub centric 28mm spacers with studs installed. Really changed the look and I love them.
