When parting out ?
When parting out a car, how do most of the forum members send or ship parts out to your buyers? Things like the engine, transaxle, sport seats, or the dash are too big to just put in a box, so how do you ship or send them? Do you use UPS or a freight company? Also how expensive is it?

For really large and heavy things like Engines and transaxles you should go with a freight only company. But most people buying these things will have some idea of who to call. So often times you need only package them up. But that can be a daunting task as well.
For a dash i would send that by ground Fed-Ex or UPS. Get a UPS or Fed-EX account and start packaging and shipping yourself. Its much cheaper then going to the UPS Store and having them rip you off.

Drifting
Greyhound (the bus) will ship things at least as big as doors pretty reasonably. For drivetrain parts I'd put it on a pallet and send it freight with terminal to terminal service.

We use the fork lift to put big items on a wooden pallet , engine I recently built a big wooden box on a pallet. Shipping costs have gotten VERY high fuel surcharges etc.. it takes time to package things well enough to not get damaged in shipping. Also note that most buyers seem to want "their" parts NOW !!! and get real unhappy if they must wait You should be aware that most of the car you can simply throw away once the few high demand items are gone...

Greyhound is a way to ship. But I and friends have had more complaints with Damage to items than I care to think about. Either pack it like the LUNAR Landing Module when using them or gamble that the buyer doesn't call you saying the item is damaged and wants a refund...Truck freight on the big item is best....but can be a pain if you need a lift gate delivery. Best of luck with your selling and shipping!

Expect various pieces of luggage will be tossed on top of anything shipped via Greyhound and package accordingly. Everything gets thrown in the same compartment beneath the seating area.
