Any comments on LSD vs Non LSD. Again, it's not going to be a 1/4 miler. Thanks again.
An LSD is always going to be better than no LSD especially in wet conditions. if I was to hazard a guess I would think you are talking in the region of 40 man-hours of effort by the time the fiddly bits are completed at whatever the local going rate is assuming you do not DIY. The parts needed will be what they are. Gearbox mounts for the 4 speed transaxle or not cheap anymore. If you have to purchase all the parts [a good second hand 4 speed transaxles go for US$1k?] and get someone to do it for you presumably something in the region of US$5k? Doubtless you will get some better offers! Note I am thinking about someone who really knows the 928 doing this- if you have a half competent junior mechanic available obviously quite a bit less than the specialist non franchise going rate of US$100/hr I tend to think of.

Get plenty off opinions on this- estimates will vary quite a bit.

You might also consider that Greg Brown has [had?] some new transmissions available if I remember correctly [??]- no idea what they cost but just remember what it costs to put right a blown transaxle so make sure you know what you are buying in so much as you can.

What's the game plan to make a reliable, 650hp LS motor?

Usually it involves using a set of LS7 heads on a LS3 block along with an aggressive cam, stroker crank, forged internals, a aftermarket aluminum intake, and raising the compression a lot for NA.

Otherwise it is all of the above without jacking up the compression and adding turbos or a supercharger to do it safely and reliably.

Most 928 internals are already forged and good for up to 700 Hp, or at least the crank was last I knew.
