"THE FORD 19# INJECTORS"
#46
Sorry I'll fix my sig so I actually have one.
'87 S4, 5 speed.
I'm pulling the motor to do some headgasket work, and plan on doing a ton of other WYAIT work. Almost anything that gets pulled off is going to get replaced or upgraded. No better time for headers, I suppose.
That said, though, I'm not going for new cams at this point, or rods/crank/etc.... The projected cost is already spiraling, and the Second Voter may invoke veto rights (depsite all the new furniture I thought we could live without!).

After reading some more it sounds like my projected setup (headers+xpipe) will be ok with the 19# injectors. No boost simplifies things here. Just need to hunt down the ford part number! Hope these are available from the dealer I got a buddy that works at one that may be able to hook us up.

Hey Fraggle, for injectors check out http://www.blueovalindustries.com they are in Elkton, not a bad drive from Manassas. Actually, a damn nice drive! They sell the 19# (which you need I think) and 24# Ford injectors for 200 a set, and you can use the part number cross ref on the http://www.fiveomotorsport.com/Injec...sPORSCHEVW.asp Web site.
Also, if you run into any problems getting off the crank nut (when that time comes) let me know and I'll bring up my torque multiplier - makes an easy job of it.

Ok, I had 2 sets of these really nice BMW V8 injectors that i thought about keeping for the 928, but i could never get specs on the injectors from those in the BMW world.
I am 99% sure they are 19# injectors and they are the 4 pindle type, same outside dimensions as the S4 and later injectors so much as i can tell.
So can someone tell me if these would just drop into a 928 (with the other o-ring of course)

As far as I can see, they are indeed 19# high impedance injectors (search this page for "bmw v8": http://users.erols.com/srweiss/tableifc.htm#tabtop)
With stock-sized bodies and 4-hole pintles, they're interesting..

A great opportunity for me to ask a nagging question. Sorry to kinda hijack this, but a search wasn't successful.
It's clear that the 19# injectors are appropriate for later cars.
'85-'86 US cars require the 24# injectors? Flow rate on the previously referenced site for the factory 0 280 150 706 injectors is listed as 20.35lb/hr.
And are the Roger-style lower seals also required for those MY cars, or just '87 and up?
Thanks.
**Never Mind...the fabulous new IB search function decided to work correctly this morning. Got my answer.**

The lower "Ford" seals are required when you use the after market Ford injectors.
I also carry the stock top and bottom seals as well.
