Heres a couple of pics of my engine bay. The second pic shows the only tell tale sign that something is going on, the rising rate fuel regulator. And even that is normally hiding under the intake tube.

JT's rear mount turbo makes more power, costs about half (for low boost), and you can still see the engine.

I like the simplicity of the rear mount turbo systems the guys out in Seattle are developing, if they can keep lag to a minimum that would be the way to go.

Regarding knock-sensors. I´m not too worried about knocks occur because I intend to use a 104 octane fuel as a complement to 98 octane gasoline. That should give me a bit more mariginal. After all, this will only be a low boost project and I don´t expect "extrodinary" powerincrease, just a littlebit more to play with.

Regarding the turbocharger I intend to use. It came off of a 6,5 liter GM diesel, such as the unit in Hummer H1 and that is probably similar to the engines found in dieselvans and pick-ups. This turbo might not be the best one to use (maybe not the worst one either) but since I have it "laying around" and I want more power it is tempting to use it.

Funny thing about this turbo is that it features dual intakes (dual exhaust flanges) that mates nicely to 2,1/4 pipes. I think most of you see the point here. Only thing is, I don´t know if the exhaust housing would be large enough. Donno if the compressor is large enough either.

There is a lot off "donnos" here but I cannot know If I haven´t tried it out. Right?

Maybe I´m a dummy but I always wanted a turbocharged car and well, what would be better then a 928?

Chris,

No more lag than your '87 5 speed.

Today I brought my GM6 turbo to a turbo specialist. Unfortunatly the "guru" himself was out today but I talked to another guy there.

He said that the compressorpart of this turbo is large enough for delivering 450-500 hp. So far so good. The thing that made him and me a little worried however is that the exhausthousing of the turbocharger got quite small intakeports.

How big is needed?
