Default Paint questions

Is there any special prep that needs to be done in preperation to put a two stage paint over the existing one stage paint? Any issues down the road I might face? Are they compatible with one another? One stage paints are unavailable here in Cali after July first I think it is and I can't be ready by then. I am really nervous about having this done because I don't want issues a year from now.

Ron--

Work with your painter and just go buy the paint now before the rules change. Takes all the mystery out of having a mixed-material project.

He had said not only couldn't they buy it, they couldn't spray it after the July deadline.
