Default Stuck door handle ?

My driver side door handle (US passenger side) has started to stick, the only way you can open it is to yank up the handle very hard,... has anyone a cure for this ie is it a common fault, and how do I fix it ?
Any help would be most appreciated,......... before I take it to the shop.

Sounds like it is cracked and getting ready to fail. Pretty common problem.
I wouldn't take it to the shop for that. You can do it yourself in an afternoon.
Should be 928-537-064-04

Jim @ 928 international has the replacement part. It is an easy fix. It only takes about 6 hours and a contortionist to do it. Good luck and have fun.

+1. I have seen this too. In the period when the crack grows, before it breaks completely, the handle works as you describe. The failure is in part 928.537.547.02 (interior handle, left). [Correction: 928.537.064.04 bearing, right]

Hi Bill thank,s for that, according to my parts book 928-537-547-02 is for the interior handle as you say, but this is operating ok, can you tell me what the failure on this part is, as I can,t tell.

Brad part No 928-537-064-04 is listed as a bearing, although in the part book it,s the backside mechanism of the outside handle,... I also notice on this there is a threaded piece that locates to the inner door handle mechanism and to the lock,..... pure ignorance with this guess, but could any adjustment be achieved here to get the outer handle to operate again ?

PET does call the part a bearing but it is correct 928 537 064 04 is the part that breaks....BTDT as many of us have.

Exactly what mine did before it failed. Only took me a couple hours and I hadn't ever done it before. Samll hands though. Look for the detailed instructions on here somewhere. Or Pirtles site.

Quite correct Ken.............my avatar is Jim Clarks Lotus. My sister lives in Peebles on the North side of the border also very close to his burial site.

For your door handle repair do a search on this site as it makes quite a diff as to what position the window is for different stages of the R&R; you should also consider perm. removing the metal plate Porsche installs as an anti theft deterent...........................PITA to get off.
