You've never parked a car in London have you?

They're turbulators to enhance laminar flow for drag reduction.

Post pics if you paint the dots yellow and put petals around them.

Good point! In my typical US-centric view of the world I hadn't considered the challenges of our ROW brothers, nor our New York City - city types.

Been on the rails and tubes over on your side of the pond (Windsor to London and back), but no, no driving - I decided to spare you guys that nightmare.

In Asia, cars are much smaller, the streets are much narrower and parking spots are much tighter. If you were to drive a 928 in Asia, you definitely need rub strips for ding-protection!

Fortunately, I have the luxury of having a non-rub strip 928 here in the States.

I recognize I am in the extreme minority, but I like the rub strips, and I think they add to the aesthetics of the car. But you know what they say about opinions...

Ken (PorKen),

By the way, are those factory or custom rear mudflaps? They look nice.

They were on the car when I bought it. I haven't figured out who makes them, or if/what OEM has them. Maybe VW? There's no markings.

They fit quite well, and have done a good job of protecting the paint on the lower body.

I removed my rub strips. An old local welding shop welded the holes shut on the doors & fenders. Dropped them off in the morning & he called & said come get them at lunchtime. Great job too. My son asked how much, he said, "Gimme 40 bucks.." But I also realize how lucky I was!
