Well, I bought one last week myself. If your working 6 1/2 days per week, so long as its not fast food, you should be able to swing it. I went with tank strainer, hose, pump & fuel filter. Don't forget a couple of the right sized copper crush washers.

Parker...........the Fuel Pump is the most common relay on the fuse/relay board.

Its the same relay as the horn so try your horn and if it works the horn relay is working; replace the FP relay with the horn unit and try starting. If all's well you've found the problem.

Thanks guys for the help.

The bad news is the relay is good...

Looking at the 928SP relay chart I had we saw the part #S were the same for some of the relays, so we did just what "flyin" suggested.

Also threw in a couple gallons of gas to make sure that wasn't the problem with the same results. If I did run out of gas I wouldn't tell you guys anyway

I'm wondering now if the Techron I put in last month might have broken some stuff loose in there, and helped to kill the pump...

Thanks again
P

I was using Techron both times when my pump died, and both times I hadn't driven my car for about a month before hand. I was sort of wondering if the techron somehow helped the gas to congeal and clog the fuel pump. A month doesn't seem long enough for the gas to congeal. I guess it could have been varnish build up that the techron loosened while the car was sitting, but I had been putting bottles of techron in the car for the previous 5 years. If the stuff actually works, I assume my gas tank/lines should have already been clean. Maybe, I'm assuming too much.

I have three cars that I try to alternate equal driving time between, but the 928 is the only one that gets techron. It's also the only one that has had a clogged fuel pump. I drive it fairly often, but I'm afraid to use the stuff anymore.

Default Ways to check 928 won't start

This site explained the relay test.I went thru the same thing.I jumped relay and had fuel pressure but car atrate wouldn't rev more than 1500rpm.That web site explained how to test everything and also said with the key on if my injectors are clicking loud(you will hear it uner the hood)then the worst is the LH electronic unit was bad.I sent it out for a rebuild. He bench tested it first to confirm it was bad.I got it abck about a week later put it in and started right up ran great.Dealers wanted just for rebuilt only $1200 to $1500 area.Had mine done for alittle over $600.He has 3 928's himself.Check it out its a great site to explain it all.I just received my unit back alittle ago and up and running again.
