Tint removal - a snap!! what happened?
I had really bad, old tint on the rear hatch and while I believe this has been addressed by others, but my experience was so positive that I thought I would pass it on.
I used Meijer Naturals Lemongrass all purpose cleaner and sprayed it on the film and then placed a single layer of black garbage bag on it - it sticks to the liquid layer on the film easily. Let it sit in the sun for about 20 minutes and then tried to take off the film. Much to my surprise, it came right off after being in place for at least 15 years. Maybe they used different film adhesive then, but with a couple of exceptions, it just lifted off.
There were a couple of small spots, along the edges and at the hatch brake light that I resprayed, cut some small pieces of garbage bag, waited 15 minutes or so, and off they came.
I've heard it was the job from hell, so maybe I was lucky, maybe the Meijer cleaner is expecially good, or ??? The whole work time was about 10 minutes, not including the waiting between.

Rod,
How hot was it outside when you did it?
I know Tony did something similar in the Vegas heat with I believe diluted amonia. Great idea, but we'll never have those kinds of conditions here in the PacNW. It would be nice to find a spray on product that would work in 70-80 degree heat, that's a threshold we may actually reach up here. Either that or I'm going to have to wait for the OCIC next year. Anyone up for hosting a "tint removal" session down there? Maybe line up a tint guy to be ready on hand to apply the new stuff right there on the spot. I'd be first in line.
