I don't particularly like the sound of those Kreissieg exhausts. Makes the car sound like a cordless drill more than an F1 car. PRobably adds unnecessary exhaust weight too with all the extra tubing and solenoids. If I want to hear a true high rpm wail that will make your hair stand on end I'll go ride my R6 up to 15000 rpms, now there's a good race exhaust sound. And the whole bike probably costs less than those racer-boy exhausts!

I remember seeing those years ago and wondering how low the rpm was tuned for peak power considering the looooooooooooooooong primaries.

this system with actuators sounds allot like something Porsche makes as an OE option on 996 and 997 cars.

Its called PSE and is basically an electronic muffler bypass.

Pretty simple to do

I have no cats, and just a GT muffler. The sound is quite subdued at low speeds, but it really bellows at higher revs. I generally drive to the bank on Saturday morning, to get cash for the salespeople's bonuses. One of them said the sound of my car makes him think of $100 bills!

Those headers were made by the Powerbroker, Tom Cloutier. His website is gone now :-( I remember it had some awesome sound clips! Now that was the best 928 I ever heard! He's worked with Louis Ott, so maybe Louis has some more info?

That's the way I would describe mine. I have a cat and the front OE muffler. Rear muffler has been removed. I love the sound that reflects off the cars I'm blowing past when I get on it. It really reminds me of my American muscle with European handeling. New Z rated tires go on tomorrow can't wait

Mmmm........180 degree, equal length primaries........

Let's see......Lose everything after the primaries, route each primary to the individual tubes on the header/sidepipe collector.......heat shields for the brake and fuel lines......

(That's going to be a whole bunch of tubing----)

I think I'll work on the paint job some more before taking this on......

Right on the money. Kreissiegs are like PSE, but about $5,000 more...

So , on our cars, you would need the 180deg headers to start with, then, after the collector, split each side off with a Y, then from the Y into an X, then the solenoids, then back to the tailpipe AFTER the muffler, and then an H between the muffler tailpipe and the bypass tailpipe on each side, making sure that the bypass side is 50% longer than the muffled side..

Steve
I allways thought that it was best to keep any exhausts matching lengths for best power?

Dude, you have side pipes, THOSE ARE WORTH LIKE 1 billion Horsepowers!

Trying to do this other stuff would only make your car more girly-manish! Dont do that, it should be tough and macho and full of awesomeness, only sidepipes can give you all that!

Actually, i think if you added smoke stacks, like your big-ol-rig, you could get into the 1.2 billion horsepower level. THAT WOULD BE AN UPGRADE! How bout like side pipes that go into smoke stacks? DUDE that would be awesome! DO IT! DO IT!

Makes a V-8 run as two 4 cylinder engines Ferrari is most notable (pun intended) as it sounds like a much higher RPM than it is. Normal V-8 has irregular firing order giving it the NASCAR sound
