Man I love projects.....thinking about them......planning them..... buying stuff.etc...etc....etc. A few weeks ago I realized I needed a little less planning and a little more elbow grease. I had been accumulating parts all winter and reading about everyone elses projects. So now every morning, instead of parking my lazy butt in front of the computor and enjoying my coffee, I go out to the garage and enjoy my morning coffee while trying to knock out an item on the list. Having SITM in two weeks has helped also. Small items are easy to put off, but even easier to take care of.

Quit being LAZY Make a list and set a goal. Eliminate one item from your list per day or week. Tell yourself " I am going to do one thing on my car before I start with everyone elses crap" OR "I only work until 3:00, I have an appt (with your car)"

If you are covered up with work/jobs, raise your prices.
or if you really are lazy (you had to let your guy go??) then you should find a different hobby.

Is that too harsh??

That way you can put large rubber on the rear to fill your GTS arches, and still get decent offsets for the front. I recall seeing people posting here about running 245 on the 18x8's and 305 on the 18x11's.

I think Andrew Olson has the 18x11 rears on his car, although with only GT rolled arches he's limited to slightly smaller rubber on them.
First off... If you don't get to work on this project I will flood your inbox with pictures of me, Hacker and the Llama - spooning together. Not a pretty sight.

Second, Xlot is correct. The Carerra III's do come from the factory in a 18x11 51ET. This is what I have, and I love them.

For the record my rubbers are not small. I still fall into the "Magnum" class.

I am running a 295, but it's tight. I had to flare the fenders slightly to accommodate. With GTS arches, you should be able to run up to a 315. Sterling can tell you for sure.

Just let it be known, the Llama was in the middle.

Thanks for all the threats guys

I hope no one carries through with the pictures, the mental imagery is disturbing enough with out seeing the prof.

I am going to come in and work on it at least one day this weekend, not going to even answer the phone.

Great Idea and no, not to harsh just what I need.
I am going to go to work on it right now.

Does the same apply to the 996 Carrera 5 spoke wheels?
The 997's were my second choice.

I know what Rixter does with most of the cars he gets.
You do part them out right? (sorry if I got you mixed up with some one else)

Actually Brendon has been a lot of help since I got my 928.

If you need motivation, sign up for a track day with it, make a bet on a race with a friend at a drag-strip, enter into some kind of competitive scenario. Nothing gets one motivated like having the pressure of some kind of competition hanging over your head where you want to be able to perform and win. Devise something to get your competitive nature to kick in, and that will help you get your shark ready to rumble.

Motivation ... change your goal from FINISH THE CAR to a short list of three small tasks write those down and each and every morning read the list and make a point of finishing at least ONE every day , go in to work an hour early and do YOUR task FIRST ignore the phones you are NOT open . Your dreams and goals are more important than other peoples issues stop letting your personal needs come LAST. Finish the 1,2,3 small tasks each day and add new ones but you can not FINISH the car in one day so using that as a goal means FAILURE !! It is more difficult for you since you work on cars all day as a b usiness and working on your own car means you are not being paid but like I said you DESERVE IT .....pay yourself FIRST !

Make a clear and detailed list of all the tasks, Post it on the garage wall nice and big. Clean and organize your garage put tools up wipe everything down sweep ect. Do an inventory of all the parts you need and get all the instructions and torque specs you need printed out and ready to go. Rent three or four car movies Gone in sixty seconds or no mans land what ever floats your boat. Watch the movies for motivation. If this does not work you should probably sell your car and move to to a remote village somewhere.

I think I may gave some experience with which to comment in this thread.

If you don't enjoy what you are doing, then don't do it, unless of course its lucrative.

ON the issue of other cars getting in the way - I understand that.

I wouldn't call you lazy. I think its unmotivated, as you suggested. What would motivate you?
