Default I need help with motivation.

I have not done much on my project in the last month but take the windows out for a lite tint and order parts.

You guys need to tell me how much of a slacker I am, I guess I am just tired of working on cars right now.

I should have all the parts to put it back together, but a couple.
I had to take some time off due to burn out.

I think if I could make a decision on the wheels I could move forward.
I like the way the 996 5 spoke look, but I am not sure about how they will fit on a 87 with GTS rear quarters.
I do not want any issues with the offsets on the front, or the back for that matter.

I really need help on that issue.

So feel free to call me lazy or any other words you feel like.

I thought I was going to get to work on it last week, then the Corvette fell down again and again, lost the head gaskets yesterday, pulled to heads today, ARHHH.

My son forgot to check the oil in his second car with predictable results, yep got to putt a new bullet in that one.

I have cars out in the lot waiting to be repaired, to listen to some of them I should fix them for free.
One guy had a clutch go out after 6 years, he thinks I should do it again for free.

My 928 motor laughs at me on the stand every day.

Greg

Ya lazy bum !

Many others have fitted recent 996 wheels - you should get some direct experience opinions... In GTS Qtrs you have a lot of room in back - the front fit is a bigger issue (offsets).

Sometime it mounts up - just keep at it little by little... you'll get there.

hang in there...

Greg, I know exactly where you're coming from. Let me tell you what gets me motivated:

1) drive a friend's 928 HARD
2) come right back to your car and WITH THE HELP OF A VERY HARDWORKING FRIEND start in on your project. By the end of the day you won't be able to stop.

Almost every one I know that has a 928 is on the other side of the world, except for the few we work on, they always come in with problems, and I dont want to flog one of there cars.

Part of the problem is the guy that worked for me that helped me do a bunch of work on it, well I had to let him go.
He only wanted to work when he was out of money, I am going to give him a call tomorrow for some contract work. (helper)

Go sit in your 928.

It took me over 8 months to finish each of the 2 times I had to pull my engine for repairs. I'd describe it as some kind of "writer's block" for car repair. The job isn't difficult, but knowing how much work there is kind of saps your strength. I eventually just went out to the garage to clean it up...rearrange tools. Just something to get out there.

Go sit in your 928.

That's what finally motivated me to start using the tools again. A little at a time, and before I knew it, I was done.

Best of luck!

I should have pushed it off the cliff twenty grand ago, I am lazy, not stupid.

PS, I ran out of heroin yesterday, do you really think crack might help, I am starting to feel, well uneasy.
Have you got any to spare?

I love the ME262 shark, that is so neat.

I think that is the problem, I am using the tools to much, just not on the 928.

One of the 997 variants has wider rears than the usual Carrerra III's.. I think maybe the C4S or C4? Has rears at 18x11 ET51 (from memory.. offset is around that), while the fronts are the usual Carrerra III 18x8 ET57. (regular C III's are 18x10 rear)

That way you can put large rubber on the rear to fill your GTS arches, and still get decent offsets for the front. I recall seeing people posting here about running 245 on the 18x8's and 305 on the 18x11's.

I think Andrew Olson has the 18x11 rears on his car, although with only GT rolled arches he's limited to slightly smaller rubber on them.
