Default Cool feet isn't happening

Summer is coming and temperatures are rising. I noticed when the A/C is on, the air flow cannot be directed thought the footwell vents as I'm used to with the heater on. So...cool feet isn't happening. Is this supposed to be, or, what are your suggestions to check?

Edit: need to change my avatar.

Aren't those controls vacuum? Sounds like a Vac leak in the dash.

Had this exact problem and discovered the rubber diaphragm that controls the footwell flap was torn...i.e., massive vacuum leak.

Dave - footwell or recirc? I need to change the recirc actuator because I know it doesn't work.

When you need to do one of them, go ahead and do them all. Timely process, but worth doing correctly the 1st time.

There are 4 total and several write ups on Rennlist on doing it. Contact Roger about the diaphrams, he has them individually instead of buying the entire unit. It will save you about $200.00 doing it this way.

+1 Sean..............you got to remove the centre console to get at the footwell vac valve so do them all and the hot water valve/hose etc.

The recirc is most vital to ensure the system is receiving the right outside temp air; the other flaps divert the flow.

I have the recirc diaphram and heater valve form Roger, still need to put that in. I guess it makes sense to replace the others as well..so is the defroster hard to get at or not? I get some contradictory info in several posts ('89 so no airbag).

I just did the footwell flap, but I agree it's better to do them all at once.
