Youtube Vid. 928 vs 80's brethren

I'd be great to see another Porsche out there. We are out numbered by the
Corvettes by 3 or 4 to 1...
By the way, here is the video of the speed trap run, this is right after the last
video ended:

Not as exciting as going through the curves.

Rich at WOT, huh?
I would like to see a line put on your MAF 0-5 and see what the voltage is when you go rich on the datalogger.

I think I remember Rage doing like 175 or so in his car. Yea, he was modified but still stock gearing and trans. etc.

I got up to 186 mph a little further down the road. I stopped the recording there
because at around 180 mph the tape on the drivers side windshield let go and
starting slapping the side window, making a loud sound that was picked up by
the video. I was hoping to go faster, but I had an electrical problem. When I
hit the WOT switch (2/3-3/4 throttle), the engine would go very rich, and bog.
So I had to stay in open loop mode to keep the car running. It turned out to be
the MAF plug was not seated correctly... As it was, I still finished that leg
at a 160.16 mph average.

Dunno, but I heard they were bouncing off the rev limiter at over 200 MPH because the 2.54 rear end maxed out, but the motor wanted to keep on going

I think he's referring to Marc and Susan of Devek that went just over 209mph (two way average). Another lister here has done 208mph at an ORR much more recently. Both cars had the 2.2 rear pinion so they could theoretically reach 215+mph with enough power (+ with larger diameter tires).

As mentioned, Marc and Susan Thomas in the Devek car and Tim & Cheryl Dey in the ORR series. Interestingly enough, both cars used the same engine as the famous Devek "White Car" no longer exists in its record setting form. It's engine is in the Dey's car.
