One of the coolest things to watch was how the car was tuned. It also sounded incredible. Tim, Mike, and especially Luke, went through a very systematic approach tuning the car. They would set the dyno to load the engine a various RPMs...2000...3000...etc etc. They then started at the bottom and tuned the engine at each level while keeping tabs on the timing and fueling. This was all done while sitting still in a controlled and safe enviorment. VERY SAFE! ...and from the results, obviously VERY effective. A treat to experinece!
I dont have access to the hitech dynojet that they had up there that loads the engine.( i will have to look around again). I have to do mine on the open road reaching speeds well into the triple digits! I think Mike wins the award for most high speed miles in a 928 and not gone anywhere! When we left the dyno at the end of the day he blew a 12.3:1 in the breathalyzer :roflmao
As said, the intercooler is really the master piece on this kit. I would KILL to have that Delta T. and it installs and is removed VERY easily. 2 bolts and one of the intake clamps and it pulls out effortlessly.
Some of those pics made me chuckle!
Its amazing how a car has brought so many people together and friendships have developed becasue of it. You tend to forget that sometimes.

It was great to meet Shane and also to see those more familiar faces that were there for the weekend. I think that the pictures make it pretty obvious that it was a good time.
The installation on Shane's new car was the first one like this done on an '85-'86 car. As usual, time became a factor when finishing up the development on the car. It worked out well, but it would have been interesting to see the effects of trying a few other things if there would have been more time.
Some measuring showed that the stock exhaust pipes and mufflers on the car were a significant restriction. An RMB would probably get rid of the biggest part of that restriction.
The 42lb injectors that are in the car are running with the stock fuel pressure and stock fuel pressure regulator. At the top end, the 42lb injectors are maxed out and hitting 100% duty cycle. Yes, there's a lot of air going through this engine. The air/fuel mixture is at a safe level up there, but a little higher fuel pressure from a stock '87+ or adjustable fuel pressure regulator would give a little more fuel out of the 42lb injectors and extend their range some.
I have a strong feeling that there's a 500+rwhp run in the near future for the car, once Shane gets a little more time to play with a few things. Not bad for an otherwise stock '86 with an automatic transmission.
The dyno recorded just under 180mph on that pull.

envious
Finished Supershark waiting for its' registration paper to be faxed.
I must say that Tim and his Family were excellent hosts. They made me feel right at home and made sure that I didn't want for anything. My face is just now getting back to normal from smiling and laughing the whole time I was there.
Supershark crossing the rockies, i meant to cut south from Denver and go through New Mexico and Arizona, but the morning rush hour traffic was so bad that I took I-70 just to get out of there sooner.
As it was I really enjoyed the twisty canyon roads that I encountered there, the S/C really helped equalize the thin air at those elevations and the air/fuel stayed right in there between 12.5 to 14.7, depending on throttle position.
I managed to average 19 mpg with the whole trip of about 2000 miles, with about another 2000 miles to go to get back to WA State.

Beautiful car, exactly my wish (Burg, blown 86.5) if I won the lottery! Nice rear meats on there!

Tim should have the cost for the Stage 1 & Stage 3 kit figured out soon.
With you two, Brian, and the kit I'm working on for Jack Riffle, we could have a huge build weekend!!
That is Tim's house in Green Bay
