Hey Charley,
Sooooo you lost coolant. . . but ya gained a screwdriver!
Can't WAIT to see the 'Hero Cam' footage!!!
Aside from all that -- how are the new seats? I mean, besides a bit 'dirty', perhaps!
At least YOU'RE still here!

But I don't think you have taken off the rotors since you got the car right?
I think you found the problem..... (mental not to self, never-ever install rotors backwards)

"There is something about the outside of a 928, that's good for the inside of a man."
Pseudo-Corollary:
"There's something about backwards brake rotors on a 928 thats BAD for the coolant system!"

I'm also coming down with Renaloctilitis AKA as a $hitty outlook on life, and your not helping matters.

I gotta admit that when I first looked at the curved vane rotors my 1st thought was to face them forward to "catch" more air..... glad I didn't try it...& no brake problems for me....well other than a lake of "stones" to take sharky out of the 2nd 1/2 of the day!! :>)

Well, i guess it does matter then.
maybe if you had the 14" rotors of the mercedes it wouldnt.
either way, if you guys buy new rotors and pagid orange pads, they are great on the street and dont squeak. (if you bed them on the track its even better)

So I swapped the rotors, with pads in same orientation to matching rotor, flushed the fluid system and replaced with Superblue. The pads looked good, at least 70% life left.
Now, the fronts lock up much sooner than the rears, and one or the other front, locks up first. On one application the right front locks first and on the next application the left front will lock first.
I have lot's of pedal. I can really smell burnt pad after two or three hard stops.

Do yourself (and anyone else here) a favor. buy some Pagid orange pads. if your rotors are in good shape, (no grooves, not warped, and no lips) , install the new pads and be done with it. Street pads cannot handle a fast moving 928 at thunderhill. you will drive yourself crazy trying to make the car work properly. Bed them in at the track. (2-3 laps making them stink, and smoke ) and let them cool for a few min while driving 2 laps, and then hit them again)
after this, the orange paint shoudl be gone and they are awesome for the life of the pad. no smell, no spungie pedal, no fade!
do it any other way, and you are going against a proven way!
Ive got 93 race days, 10s of thousands of street miles and have no squeaking and brakes that can keep up with most any car out there.
