Default Question for those who have 10" rims in front.

Who is running 10" rims on the front of their cars that can answer what has to be modified or what rim specs will allow one to do this?

Drats...once again I'm standing at the fork in the road looking intensely at the weeded path.

Default iv got 9 wide

I have 9 wide and they barely fit on the front. I think you'll need bumped fenders or keep your total diameter 25.5 inch or under.

I have fitted 10X 18 on the front with 65 offset and no issues, other than heavier steering. Probably not best for a road car though.

I have 17 x 10, et 65. At stock ride height, no real issues other than rolling the fender lip. My car is lowered, and at full lock, it barely scrapes the control arm with the inside of the rim, but thats about it. If you autocross, or drive sideways, drifting, you may get contact between the fender lip and the tire as you steer into the slide. (opposite lock--- yeehaw!) My tires are 255's in front, and they are slightly stretched over the width of the rim. I think a 265 would fit ok, but I'd have to do some hammering to get a 275 in without going deeper on the offset.
hope that helps

Do you have full steering radius and how low is your ride height in the front? And what size tires? 265/35-18?

Adrian when you said heavy steering were you refering to tramlining - road surface feed back through the steering wheel or just more force required to maneuver the car in tight spaces? Do they stick out from the fenders?

Thanks
Brian.

one of my kinesis is 10", but i still run the 275 x 35x18 up there.

Its 7.5" backspacing (instead of 8" backspacing) Im really slammed at 109mm ride hight, but its not too bad on the street. welll, its not very good, but mostly due to fender rub because the car is so low for U turns. on the track, no rubbing. If there was a finger of space on the fender, it would be fine. (ie 135mm of ride hight) But, its got to be 7.5" of backspacing

7.5" backspacing on a 10" rim is a 63.5mm offset (63.5mm = (7.5 - (10 / 2)) * 25.4). 8" backspacing is 76.2mm on a 10" rim. So Mark, from what you are saying, a 18x10 ET65 wheel that is so common these days should fit on the front of a 928 with a ride height of 135mm or higher?

Hi, I've run 255's no problem, 265's would be tight. Full steering radius aswell.
re. heavier steering, I don't find it an issue, but obviously running 255' instead of the stock 225's will make it a heavier feel when parking etc.
