Default Is this the "I hate cops" forum?

I have to say I am offended by some of the remarks. I guess I take them personally...but everyone is allowed his or her opinion. I would just like to ask that we stick to the topic of our 928's. If you want to rant and rave about how you feel about "other" topics say teachers, lawyers, police, doctors, students or business owners; please be aware that some of the folks on this forum may be one of them. If you still feel you need to make a derogatory comment; post them on the appropriate web site.

I didn't join this forum to get pissed off. I joined to learn about my 928 and meet some really cool people.
Thanks.

Well, I guess if you're starting a thread about voicing opinions, (as opposed to 928 content) I'll voice mine.

If one is easily offended, one should probably not hang out on internet forums. I find some things offensive here, including bashing cops or any other group, but I prefer a forum where people can spout off now and then, to one where someone thinks they can "police" every comment for some degree of offensive content according to their own subjective opinion.

If I find something offensive beyond my taste I look elsewhere for threads that interest me. I prefer my forum mates do the same, as opposed to telling each other how to behave.

The fact that I find someones post overbearing, does not, in my opinion, give me the right to decide how they should behave. It gives me the right to tell them they're full of $hit, but not to expect that i can direct their behavior.

Your resume' in another thread indicates you have 18 years of practice using your authority; you have no authority here.

You and I find the same thing, cop bashing, offensive. I also find your way of addressing it offensive.

Peace

Thanks for the comment Charley...I will keep my mouth shut and I apologize if I offended anyone.

I think I will also take a break from the forum.

Cop or not, you guys are rough!

So maybe his comment may not have been the best place to post his comments but let's not kick one of our own to the curb...

I don't think it's so much cop bashing as meter maid ticket givers...nobody likes being told that doing 75 in 70 is going to kill everyone on the road and that your insurance should go up because your are a crazy driver.....IMHO...

Sean, you're not a cop here. You're an afficianado and only respected for your contributions to the community. Give up the politics and vibe with it.

You've just been hanging around in the wrong kind of forums

I have to say that the cop that stopped me the other evening and said the SE sounded fantastic (X, no cats, GT resonators, RMB) was a nice chap even if he went on to say that it may be advisable if I did something to attenuate the dB's a little bit.

Cops get a bad rap for having to enforce unpopular laws put into place by the ******** we elect into office. I've known an awful lot of them over the years, and honestly, the vast majority of the complaints come from people who knowingly broke the laws and then want to 'be given a break' and let off, as if they were some kind of VIP or something. It really, really gets old real fast. Do the crime, pay the fine and be done with it, and stop whining. Don't like cops? next time you need assistance, call a criminal. Good luck with that.

It never fails that when someone gets a ticket they will want to rant about it. Don't take it personally, and keep giving out those tickets, especially the ones that are going to slow down drivers who are showing really poor judgement.

Not that any of us ever do .

Sean, the funny thing is that about 3 % of us here on this forum seem to think it is there right to rant on others, but find it extreemly offensive when some one questions that right. Since it is a free country, I tend to give these people free berth, and move on to some of the more productive threads.

I see you have and 86.5 928. That is one of the best 928s to own in my opinion. I hope you stick around and find out for yourself how helpful and friendly the people on this forum can be. If you have a problem that is shark related, bring it here. You will not be disapointed.

You know me too well

After I had lived in Switzerland for over 3 years there was the local policeman who asked a neighbour to mention to me that it was only legal to drive on foreign plates for 1 year.

Cheers
