Life is risky for those living in Mexican border towns because the Mexican citizen does not have the right to bear arms as we do here in the United States. I feel safe because I can protect myself, not because of anything law enforcement does. When you see trouble coming, call 911, when you see trouble happening, call 357!

This all started because an officer of the law would not allow something as simple as letting a tow hook be attached to a car. Had he allowed the owner to install the tow hook, this entire thread would've been about how the DMV/court systems screwed up the OP's driving record and had him down for a suspended license. Hell, we'd probably all be telling happy cop stories instead of beating down on "the man."

This thread has really taken a life of it's own, I think it says a lot of how we as Americans feel about the erosion of our freedoms and the growing power of government.

Hmmm.....seemed to me that the issue was about insensitivity in the enforcement branch. This is regardless that said agent was working within allowed boundaries, and was being a ridiculous jerk all the same. The agency has to hire from the general population and they will never get the absolute quantity of excellent agents unless people like Sean, you and me sign up and I'm here to say on my behalf; that aint gonna happen.,

I doubt that the average border town Mexican has enough, firepower, body guards and reinforced concrete to make life feel nearly as safe as we do.
