Last year the state was upset at Green Bay because speeding ticket counts were down. Our chief responded by pointing out crime rates & the solved case file was the best ever. They didn't care, ordered an immediate blitz on a very busy section of highway going through GB to generate more speeding tickets. The state ordered so many officers to participate, officers were using personal vehicles since there were not enough squad cars to go around. I drive this stretch twice per day, on day one I saw a Dodge Durango, Pontiac GrandAm and a Ford SUV with people pulled over with temporary lights in the window.
This past Monday the local paper released the story the same type of blitz will start in May.

Another reason why I hate pigs. He could of just let your car sit, but noooooooooooooo the city wants to generate more money from impounding your car.
Everytime I get pulled over I feel like I'm a victim of armed robbery. I still got warrants out on me in California for 20+ unpaid parketing tickets and never showing up for my 4th driving on a suspend license charge which is probably a month+ in jail. But I refuse to settle that, because on my 2nd conviction I did 5 days in jail in Sac country and in 5 days in jail Riverside for the same charge, double idemnity clause I'm using against them so I'm not doing crap on the 4th one.
Even though that was 15 years ago and past the statue of limitations. Some CA piggie probably would have the come up on the puter and throw me in jail. One reason I hate ever going back to CA for visit is possible jail rape from illegal aliens in a CA county jail over a old ****.
CA, Kentucky, Alabama are places that won't extradite me but I won't go there anymore.
Officer: Is this your car?
Trick question, never answer yes. Instead say WAS yours but it was sold to another person that morning.
See the piggie already knew your license was suspended when he pulled you over. When you told him that was your car to the loaded question that probably determined right then your car was going to be impounded. The crewcut piggie will later brag to his heavily armed jarhead cop steriod coworkers he impounded a Porsche and add the guy wanted to cry so the pigs can laugh about you in the station.
O: Do you know why I pulled you over?
M: No
Another loaded trick question designed for self incrimination. You answered it correctly.

Lets all praise the cops for this. Thank god they towed his shark and did front end damage over $20 of meter maid money and made an *** out of him infrotn of his coworkers, it was totally worth it man, kraabel is an *** for not thanking him for getting in compliance and shaking his hand. I can't wait until this happens to me, hey I'll go park downtown get me new parking tickets and throw them in the back seat with the rest of them. Then some random day a cop decides $20 to punk me and my car in the summer heat and I'll be thankful for it.
In this recession that $20 is worth public humiliation, property damage, and PR damage of leaving a guy pissed at the cops over a mere $20 that he might hate cops forever because of it to the city. Not to mention the internet dicussions over it.
So ya that was totally worth the cities best interest in towing exotic cars for $20 Porsche owners have too much money anyway and hey think of the cops, he's gotta put food on the table and tasers aren't free.
Praise anyone with a gun who earns a check.

Thats one good thing about living in the city; cops have enough serious stuff to deal with so that they don't bother with petty ball-busting bull****. Its only when I get out into the burbs or farther out that I worry about getting pulled over...

Baring the towing of a vehicle because it is CURRENTLY parked illegally, there is a solution to getting parking tickets (this is not to condone parking illegally) - no plate, no Vin showing.
Obviously NO PLATE is not what I am suggesting. California has so many new cars and used cars changing hands, to not have a state plate is something that LEO notice too much.
Obviously, a RED porsche may change the dynamic, but it works on other, darker, but still interesting cars.

holy roasted shark on a stick! bad cop, no donut! that was just wrong, not letting you put the tow eye in... a suspended license does raise eyebrows, lucky he didn't drag you to the fudgepacker hotel on that one.
imo, the part that really stinks is the law itself - suspended license for parking tickets?? how lame!! not even a moving violation!! next they'll suspend for a late payment on a medical or phone bill.
iirc, thx to the the patriot act and a supreme ct ruling regarding auto searches, they don't need cause to conduct a search, listen on calls, check mail/bank accounts/etc anymore. it's open season on everyone, kiss your privacy goodbye. and hope your friends friends aren't on a "list", or you could be too
in fact, just being on the same thread as red_ufo probably has us on a watch list, hahaha
welcome to Amerika.

Happened to me about 10 years ago. I had an unpaid ticket, and when I went in to pay my registration the DMV's computers where down so they couldn't know that I had one outstanding, so I got my new sticker with nothing being said. What complicates things is that there was a typo on my registration so that my address was invalid. Apparently they had tried to contact me by mail, but I never got it. After the previous registration expired, it was "unregistered". At some point I got another parking ticket, the cop noted that I had a sticker that wasn't valid, and they again tried to contact me at the bad address without success. At some point they marked it as a stolen sticker.
The "jig was up" when I went in to the police department to pay the ticket. By this time they were convinced that I was a crook and had a warrant for my arrest. On confirming my identity, a friendly officer placed me under arrest. Now I found out that there was a much bigger problem, with much bigger bail. I needed to take a cash advance on my credit card, but they didn't have that ability at the local station. They said I could do it at the county jail, but I'd have to be processed, including waiting in a cell and being transported via squad car while handcuffed. I wanted to handle this myself (stupid!) so I agreed. But when I got to the jail, they couldn't handle credit cards either! I ended up calling my pastor who lived blocks away and he bailed me out.

I see a couple issues....since I'm one of "them"....
there is NO way any computer in the dispatch center or in the cop car could possibly return your plate (registration) & then run your license THAT FAST...no way no how.... think about it...in the time it takes for the cop to drive past you....just the fact that he got your plate was amazing (yet another reason NOT to have front plates :>) but to run it, get a return then run your license and get a return in what....5-10 seconds NO WAY...IMPOSSIBLE.....somehow (that you will never be able to prove) they knew you were coming and already ran the info
BUT you did techinically have a suspended license...so its easy for him to cite you and tow your car...here in CA its a FAT ticket and a mandatory 30 day impound (think $$$$).... Yes the DMV should have notified you when you renenwed, but they will claim a paperwork error....
On the "search" aspect....by law once a car is "impounded" to be towed the officer is obligated to to an "inventory" of the vehicle to document its contents prior to towing....this is a round about way to search a car.....anything they find in the "inventory" that is criminal you will be charged with....fight it all you want you will LOOSE....many court decisions on that one....
However if there is damage to your vehicle caused by the tow, you can file a claim to get the repair cost back...or at least in CA you can...the tow trucks insurance covers it
BTW I've driven a RED 928 for over 4 years and not exactly slow either (my bald tires and crappy gas mileage prove that) & I haven't been pulled over ONCE!!!! (not that I would get a ticket, but still its odd)
