Sorry to hear that. A fender shouldn't be too big of a deal. You'll be fine. Keep this fender and mount it on the wall as a reminder.

why do you need a new fender? Is it torn? Looks like a sharp dent but no tear?

obligatory... "that'll buff right out"

Any good body shop should be able to pound that out.

Haven't found a good one around here, thats why I learned to paint. When I was 17 I saved for 2 years to have my 71 Plymouth painted, I was 19 before I got the car back, and I was not happy with the results. I have painted everything myself since. I would rather find a good fender and paint/replace. Doing bodywork on the car tends make a big mess and more chances to screw something else up. Plus, I fear once that fender was to come off i would be tempted to do lots more, and I waited to buy a really nice 928 so I wouldn't be tempted to do that.

Call the Audi dealer find out who works on the alloy cars or Jaguar also has some alumimun bodies. You need a panel beater who KNOWS aluminum and they should be able to reshape the fender if there or no rips cracks in the metal.

Wow that can totally be fixed. It sucks, and I know how it feels when your obsessive-compulsive disorder is going off like a crazed hyena, but a trip to the body shop will fix that. You can find the paint code for your white at any auto paint supplies store.

Good Idea. It was your fault anyway. I installed the oil pressure switch you sent me last night (Thanks for the partsand I left a liftbar next to the passenger side of the car. When I backed out this morning the front wheel caught it and turned and Bam! Work bench. Not paying attention and wanting to drive it costs me, Oh well.

No, that's my shop at work. I drove it in yesterday with the intention to work on it afterwork, never got the chance. So, I worked on it last night at the house. I haven't taken it on a nice long drive lately and I was looking foward to one this weekend. Still going anyway

I feel your pain x2.

I managed to rub the front fender up against the side of the garage door opening backing out of my garage - twice!

I was left with a nice dent, 3 inches across and a couple of inches deep. Since the paint remained intact, I called the local paintless dent removal guy. He could not get enough leverage to push out the dent. Aluminum may seem soft, but this is tempered and working it hardens it further.

I used a 3/4 inch pipe with a rubber cap on the end, leveraged against the tire inside the fender with hand pressure pushing at the same time on a pushed-out area above the dent, I got the dent to "pop" 98% back to normal. It has some high and low spots and some "working" defects that will probably require some Bondo when I have it fixed.

One alternative I pursued that could end up looking better and even be cheaper was to buy a used fender with perfect white paint. Almost got one from 928 Intl.
