I think that i try to buy an used temperature gauge on e-bay and if i'm lucky i can solve the problem but before mount the temperature gauge I would try it with the same method used to discover my fault temperature gauge.
If the used work in the same way i try to readjust my temperature gauge.

Isn't the third white line supposed to be around 195 deg F?

I think that with the temperature gauge without number the third white line indicates about 100 C° (212 F°) infact the temperature gauge is divided in three parts and for this reason the normal temperature stay between the second fine white line and the third fine white line
instead with the temperature gauge with number that is divided in four parts the fourth white line is 100 C° (212 F°)
