Post New Shark

Not sure if I am doing this right, but I will give it a try. Just thought I would share pictures of my new toy with everyone. It is a 1988 5 speed with 43k miles.

Purchased for 17,500 only thing it needs is a belt/water pump due to age not wear, and the rear hatch cover is missing(ordered from 928 Spec. Otherwise the paint and interior are perfect. Option codes are:

L80K - Guards Red

PE

CO2

M018 - sports Steering Wheel with Elevated Hub -30mm

M158 - Radio, Blaupunkt Reno SQR 46

M220 - Locking Differential - 40% (87-89)

M302 –

M418 - Side Protection Moldings

M481 - Manual Transmission

M494 - Additional Amplifier

M513 - Back-Support (Lordose) - Right Seat

M586 - Back-Support (Lordose) - Left Seat

M650 - Electrical Sliding Roof

Only thing not original is the Alpine CD/Speakers.

Hey George what about those wheels. Are they the typical slotted wheels that have been machined out to produce the arches? Just wondering. I have slots that I have been wanting to do it to and everyone says not to cut them.

Huskydog,

Compared to my deal, you got a steal. I need to stay out of the stupid pill jar! How’d you come across her and get so lucky? Is the engine as clean as the rest? Mine is an 88 S4 w/ 37k Black/tan auto for $18,700 plus another $5,300 to make it mechanically sound before shipping then another $2,500 roughly upon receiving the car to correct their repair shop mistakes plus the items they simply missed in the PPI.

Congrats, I’m envious. A very nice shark example indeed. My shark is finally a spitting image of pure pleasure thanks to a lot of good advice, some serious wrenching and a poop load of money, so let this be a lesson to those also planning a future shark purchase…”Be patience O’shark one”…you don’t have to give up all you “fins” to own a shark like Huskydog’s.

Gotta go now as I’m feeling a tear form in my eye from shark happiness.

Tim

Curt,
Those wheels look like the "Design 90" rims that originally came with the GT models.

Curt

The wheels have the Porsche crest in the center and they came with the car. I did not notice the difference until I went home and checked last night. Went through receipts from previous owner and they are aftermarket wheels.

George,

Very nice indeed! You'll be drivin' with a smile for quite a while!!

FYI, you appear to have the forged Club Sport rims that were available on the '89 GT (as opposed to the cast Design 90's that came on later cars).

Hey George.

I got your email and tried to reply but i couldnt get it thru.

Very nice S4 indeed. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

Was it a locally owned car or did you buy outta town? Did you sell the '83 to someone local?

You, me and Don T. ('87 S4) need to get together sometime soon.

Well done Huskydog! And Tim, what a gorgeous photo of your shark. Fitting for the cover of Mark A's next catalogue, me thinks.
