nadine, tempting as those rims might seem you should opt out and look for some more. its a crying shame but the front of the 928 really wants the highest offset you can find so we cant use the majority of 911 wheels that are out there. if you can get a 19 x 10 x 65mm et that will fit the front but will rub on the inside under full lock and you will need to clearance the front gard either with your grinder or with carefull bending/rolling.

the wheels will look terrible

I have the 57mm on 19 front with 235 and it fits exactly where i like it. And i like the rim of the tire even with the fender. going to a 50mm offset would look terrible and drive even worse, but yours are another 5mm further out. WONT WORK!

Find a different set of wheels or a different pair for the front.

45mm offset in front WILL NOT WORK as has been said above.

I agree 295 is optimum for 11" rear on an S4

Hi NADINE

Thats the same calculator that SAID that 245/45/18 would fit on front of mine with a 7.5 out..

TAKE MY WORD THEY DIDNT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They jammed on rear of front arch...

I am not sure who wrote that calculator, but for me at least it DIDNT work properly....

All the best Brett

Ok, I have another set of alloys:

FR 19 x 8.5 with ET56
RR 19 x 11 with ET65

with the wheel fitment calculator this is what I am told for a good fit:

use 235/35/19 tyres for the front

use 295/30/19 tyres for the rear with 15mm spacers

Please can someone confirm this or disagree.....

My head is pounding.....didn't think at all how complicated this was..............

Here's the wheel:

You may have read this thread in which Erling G-P discusses his dissatisfaction in the fit of his wheels; in his case the front offsets are 52 ET. That's 7mm closer to correct offsets than what you're looking at, and his complaints are of poor handling/tramlining. I'd guess that the only reason that Erling has these on his car is that they came with it. Based on his posts, he's not at all happy with the behavior of these, given the offsets.
Now amplify that behavior, and the protrusion beyond the fender, and you have a preview of what you'd be getting with 45 et wheels.
It's up to you.
EDIT: Okay, moot point....looks like you are looking at alternatives.

Nadine, FWIW, I have 17x10 fronts with 255 tires, on an ET65mm offset. These required rolling the front lip with the baseball bat trick, and they just touch the A-arm at full lock. My rears are 17x 11 with 285s, and ET 60 offset. They required the baseball bat also, and they will rub on the inside on big compression, clear the outside by about 1/8 of an inch...so 285 JUST fit in my 85 fenderwell on an 11 inch wheel.
My car is generally too low for normal driving with these tires- the top of the front tire is 1/2" up inside the fender line, and the rear, the top of the rim is level with the fenderline. The fronts will rub a little turning into a steep driveway.
Your latest choice should fit with some rolling, but the rear will be tight.
Good Luck!
Steve

:

The wheel fitment calculator states the above is a perfect fit ! Why would the rear be a tit fit ? Please could you elaborate....

Thanks

I had 52mm offset 7" x 17" rim on the front. That would probably be the lowest offset you'd want to try.

Think the current generation Carrera's run 56mm front offset 19" rims. Those seem to work OK on the 928's.

Good luck on your rim hunting.

FR 19 x 8.5 with ET56 using 235/35/19 tyres for the front

The fronts will fit if your ride height is not too low. ET56 is ok.

The rears will probably fit. Your total ET with the spacers will be 50mm. The good thing about the rears with an ET of 65mm is that you can always use different spacers to move the wheel in or out. If a 50mm total is too far, you can always get smaller spacers. If 50mm is too large, you can buy as small as 3mm spacers to use in addition to the 15's, or just get bigger spacers.
