** Update ** Here's Are The Offsets ! - 11 inch Rim
Hiya,
On a 19 x 11 inch rim, can you fit a 275/30/19 tyre ? Will it look too thin?
Would it look better with a 285/30/19 tyre ?
Reason I ask is that the prices between the 2 are astronomical !
Thanks
Nadine

285's are a much rarer size. I have those on my car. See avatar (Although its too small to really see anything)
i would go with 295's the next time around.

Hi NADINE
I have 275s on my 18x10....for 11s you really need 305 or 315....and I seriously hope you are only talking rears...11s are NOT going to fit on the front without major wing work....
All the best Brett

Brett,
I bought these today 3 piece split rims:
The front are 8.5 x 19 and am hoping to fit 235/35/19 tyres on them.
The rears are 11 x 19
If I fit 315/30/19 on the rears, will they not rub inside?

Nadine, although I'm guessing that those tire sizes will fit, take your time to get input from actual 19" applications - somebody who has 19"s on their car.
That said, VERY NICE CHOICE!! You clearly went all out on your wheel selection. I'm also assuming that you've gotten the correct offsets, since you went to the extent of buying such high end wheels.
You won't be disappointed in the look, I can assure you.
I recall you asking about lowering in another post. I wouldn't consider any lowering until you get your new tire/wheels installed and settled. You might find that the look of 19"s in those wheel wells will look just fine - i.e. no lowering needed.

Thanks JP !
So friends, I am going to order the tyres then, here goes:
235/35/19 for the front 8.5 inch rims
315/25/19 for the rear 11 inch rims
I don't know what the offsets are off hand but have checked and they fit the 928 S4 perfectly!
If anyone thinks I shouldn't order these tyre sizes then now is the time to tell me !
Thanks
Nadine

If you have the offsets we could better tell you what will fit, as well as a year.
As well you will need to keep in mind that 315s will not fit under the factory rear arches without some work. IE rolling the edge on the rear.

My S4 is an 1987 and I already rolled the arches in advance to max with an angle grinder !
It was a girl thing, better to be safe than sorry.
I will find out tomorrow morning what the offsets are.

My gut tells me that you'll be good with those - at least up front. Unless you're ready to roll your rear fenders a bit, you may want to hold on a bit to get a definitive answer on rear tire application before putting in the order for 315 rears. I know that you must be chomping at the bit to get these on, but now that you've got the right wheels, you want the right tires. My guess is that you'd better be ready to roll the backs.
Rolling rear fenders to accomodate wider tires in the back has been done by many on this board with good results. Do a search to find out who's gotten what under their back fenders with & without rolling. I recall that Tom F. got some rubbing with 285's on 10.5" rears thread.
Keep in mind that Tom was an 'early roller'. More recently, Andrew Olsen and Wade T. went through successful, self-taught 'rolling school'.
EDIT: Your post above came in after I'd written this. Grinder You're brave. If you've already had the grinder out, rolling for additional clearance will be child's play. I'd also venture a guess that you may be able to get 245 up front with minimal lock to lock rubbing.

Hi Nadine
DO NOT buy tyres until you have posted offset here...for others with 11s to advise !!!
I also think 235/35 may not fit on front without rubbing on rear arch...
I will be away until late Sunday as my car is on display in Cornbury House (PCGB HQ)
But there are plenty of 928 owners here to advise you, but DONT buy tyres until you KNOW they will fit...
All the best Brett

Post the brand/model of tire too. 315's vary in width depending on manufacturer.
I'm running 315/30/18's and they vary from 12.6" to 13.2" wide. The 13.2" tires were a real pain to fit correctly. Lots of hammering on the chassis and baseball bat fender rolling to get them to fit. They still rubbed under full cornering load. 12.6" tires fit better but it's still marginal.
I can't really recommend 315's on a street car. The wheel offset has to be perfect, down to the millimeter. 295's would be about as wide as I'd want to go and that's still probably going to require some rolling w/ a baseball bat.

Panic!
This is my first forum and first question. Im hoping someone has some info! I own an 84 928s. I bought some Cayenne 19x9 rims after much investigating. Everything looked like it would fit. bolt pattern, tires 255/40/19 all the way around. offset was 65mm identical to the original rims on my car. Now as they are being shipped to me, I realized that maybe the center bore lip may be an obstruction on my hubs. Anyone have any clue if this configuration will work??????????????????????????????????????? thanks
