Thumbs up *** Detroit Tech Session***

Randy: Can you make this one sticky for the week?

Munk's Motors is offering to put a few sharks up on the rack at this Saturday's tech session. Beside me, who's interested in getting some free wrenching for their shark?

Munk's made an announcement about the tech session at last Friday's PCA meeting that it's open to both 928 owners and folks just plain curious about 928s.

If you DO want your car up on the rack, let's try to get a variety of models up in case there's a flood of interest. We should try to get at least one of each. I've got my hand in the air for an '85 S.

Dave, glad to see that the Detroit area owners are becoming a cohesive force, with the continued assistance from the Rennlist 928 Forum.

Perhaps, in addition to forum postings, you might consider creating an email listing for your group to use for announcements such as this.

BTW - have you considered Rennlist Membership? It has its privileges.

Randy.....I have now submitted my membership application!

As for your suggestion for a mailing list, we'll organize one after this weekend's event. We needed to publicize on this list to get the ball rolling. When I got my shark in 2001, Dennis and I only knew of about 5 or so other sharks. That number has grown to over 30! (The area 911 crowd is beginning to notice....shhh!)

Dave,
Not knowing the numbers he will take please count me in for the lift. 86 928S with suspension mods. I dont know what modifications since they were completed prior to my purchase and the car is too low to get under and see without a lot of jacks and stands.
It would also be great if he could point out all of the ground points. I have only found three and am wanting to find the remaining 5? under the front end.

Sounds like a good time. Does Monks know anything about our suspensions??

Anyways, I have made my decision... I am keeping this shark as a donor for a supercharger. I had one person back out of helping. I am looking for someone in the Detroit area that has or knows someone with a machine shop. That might be willing to help fabricate hardware for the install of the super charger.

Dave...
Is there room left for my 86.5? I still can't figure out a rough running problem and internal vibration. I sure could use the help of the group.

kgrimshaw:

Ultimately it's up to Munk's how many they want to lift. I'm guessing we can get quite a few up in the 2-3 hours available. Not many have asked here so far, so I don't see a need for a limit any more.

Dennis, any thoughts on what Munk's is planning?
