Hey everyone.
I'm thinking I'd like to set up a dyno day somewhere in NJ this spring and I was wondering if anyone is interested. I'm just trying to get some baseline numbers before I try a few things with my car, but I thought it would be a cool GTG. I don't have any particular place in mind, so if you know of somewhere that might be interested in hosting, I'm all ears.
Let me know!

Hi Mike,
Count me in!
There's a shop close to us (Farmingdale) that has a Mustang Dyamometer. According to the website, they rent by the hour or the day (six hours).
I need some dyno education - does anyone know how the Mustang dyno compares to the Dynojet?

Mike,
One more thought - if we end up having the dyno day at a shop local to us (central NJ), I'll talk to Apryl about hosting a BBQ afterwards.

Hey Adam,
That sounds great. Maybe Kevin will have his new car back on the road and join us.
How about the MD/VA/DC crowd. Anyone in the area want to join us? Even if you don't use the dyno, this will be our first gtg of the spring in this area, so come on up!

Hey guys....Kevin sees this, but sadly we can't make a dyno day any time soon. The new car has turned out to be a very large can of worms...and will probably not be on the road this summer, the way things are going. We are completely screwed with Twister still being stuck in the garage and the new car in the drive with a messed up trans and torque tube.
We got the trans for the new car from Roger finally, and Kevin tried to install it in the driveway so that he could pull that car out of the driveway long enough to have Twister towed, but there is just no way to do it. The two concrete runners make it so he can't get a jack on solid ground to lift the car. He tried putting the jack on two pieces of 3/4 plywood even, but while he was under the car he noticed that that the plywood started sinking into the dirt! He just barely made it out of there before it hit the ground. The car gave him a nice little bite on his lower back as he was making his escape, so he's not trying that again.
So he's back to finishing stripping Twister...but once that's done in the next couple of days probably, we are going to have to figure out how to move forward.

Toofast and Anthony, I'll keep you posted if we can put it together. How does the place in Farmingdale, NJ sound for a location?
Leslie,
Sorry to hear about your troubles. I think a set of liftbars might help. I've got a set for the OBs (up to '86). Let Kevin know if he wants to borrow them, he's welcome to them and I'll lend a hand if it would help.
There's never a dull moment with these cars is there?

A set of liftbars might help in the garage, if we ever get the car in there. But there's simply nothing that can be done safely in the driveway. Without some other solution, I may very well have to send out a call to arms to all Northern New Jerseyans at some point to get a dozen sets of hands out to the house for a quick pushy-swappy deal with the two cars. Hopefully not, but we're running out of ideas.

Very cool,
Adam and Apryl have graciously offered to host a BBQ so it's turning into a GTG AND a dyno day, so if you just want to join us for some food and conversation (while some of us are revving our cars REALLY high
) let me know. I'll work with Adam to see when it will be convenient for them and then we'll see who can make it and what works best price wise (per hour/per day/3 pull rate).

Hi Leslie,
Adam checked into some local places and we have to see who will be able to attend by date. We're thinking of a Saturday in May.
When we get some prices and possible dates I'll post again.
